Abstract

A hot-rolled steel has the following percentage composition: .C.up to 0.08 .Mn.0.1 -1 .Si.0.03 -0.5 .Cu.0.9 -2 .Ni.0.5 -2.5 .Nb.0.005-0.25 .Al.0 -0.5 Fe and incidental elements, the balance. Cr and Mo should not exceed 0.2% each. A steel containing at least 1% Cu may be precipitation-hardened by heating to 850-1150 DEG F.
