1,021,695. Hair clippers. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 13, 1962 [Nov. 16, 1961], No. 42904/62. Heading B4B. A blade set 14, 15 projects with play through a slot 22 in the housing 1, 8 of a hair - clipping device, the cap 8 of the housing having an engagement surface 20, 21 provided with studs 16, 17 engageable with recesses in the fixed blade 15 in the blade set, and the blade set being pressed against the surface 20, 21 by means of a leaf spring 25, 26, 27 so that by displacing the blade set against the action of the spring, it can be released from the studs 16, 17 and removed from the housing. The bottom member 1 of the housing is adapted to be fixed to the motor housing of a dry shaver having a detachable double shaving head, and the movable blade 14 of the blade set is reciprocable by means of a pivotally-mounted arm 10 provided with an eccentric driven from the driving shaft of the shaver. Pins 28, 29, Fig. 3 (not shown), on the blade 15 engage in apertures 30, 31 in the blade 14. A bar 34 slidably mounted in a groove 35 in the bottom member 1 prevents the ingress of hair and dust. In a modification, the leaf spring is replaced by a wire spring.
