Abstract
The invention comprises azo dyes which in the form of the free acid are of formula <FORM:1020802/C4-C5/1> wherein Y is an o-naphthylene radical substituted by a sulphonic acid group and an acryloylamino or b -chloro-propionylamino group, B is an o-naphthylene radical, R1 and R2 are hydrogen or chlorine atoms or methyl, acetylamino, alkylsulphone, sulphamyl or substituted sulphamyl groups, R3 is a chlorine atom or a nitro, alkylsulphone, acetylamino, sulphamyl or substituted sulphamyl group and R4 is a hydrogen or chlorine atom or a methyl group. The dyes may be prepared by the processes described in the parent Specification and are used to dye nitrogenous materials in blue to grey shades.
