Abstract

Enamel heat exchanger consists of tube bundle having inner or outer coating of enamel. The tube ends are joined by the enamel coating. The ends are na extended cross section and have hexagonal profile. The circumference of the tube ends is joined by a layer of enamel to the mounting flanges for the bundle. One ring flange is of larger dia. and is held in the outer flange of the shell. The other has an elastic sealer strip attached to it which is clamped in the upper shell flange. A flat plate type bundle is also possible with a flat spacer bar between the plates, sealed in withn enamel. For use with corrosive media. Gives a construction of relatively cheap nature, with much better heat transfer than a simple double vessel. It is simple to manufacture, having no need for a tube plate.
