Abstract

The eyelet terminal, for connecting a wire to the cylindrical terminal of a battery, consists of a C-shaped metal clamp (1) drawn around the terminal by tightening a bolt (9) joining its ends. The bared wire end (4) is fixed into a hole in the spine of the C. The ends of the C's arms are each provided with projecting flaps (11, 12) that strengthen the plastic coating (6) around the C in the region of the bolt. The plastic coating or casting is polypropylene reinforced with glass-fibres. One advantage lies in the terminal withstanding relatively severe temperatures.
