Abstract

Pyrrolobenzoxazole derivs. of formula (I): is an antihyperglycaemiant, useful in the treatment of diabetes, adiposity, arterioscleroris and disorders of the central nervous and neurovegatative systems and renal function, and is prepd. by hydrolysis of an actinomycetal glucosidase inhibitor. The hydrolysis is either effected in acid throughout or it may be effected in two stages, partial acid hydrolysis followed by alkaline hydrolysis.
