Abstract

An electrical connector for use with flat electrical cables, of the type comprising a plurality of conductors held in parallel side-by-side spaced relationship by a sheath of insulating material, the connector comprising a first housing member having a plurality of holes pass-throughs, each of which receives an individual terminal having a conductor receiving portion projecting from one end of the associated hole, the conductor receiving portion comprising a pair of spaced apart arms having opposite edges defining a conductor receiving groove and that they have pointed free ends to pierce the cover of a cable; and a second housing member capable of being mounted on the first housing member and having a plurality of through holes for receiving the conductor receiving parts of the terminals, respectively, the free ends of the arms of the receiving part being formed of conductor of each terminal with projections directed towards the first housing member and holes being formed in the second housing member with projections capable of being applied with the projections in the arms of the associated terminal, to hook together the first and second housing members, characterized in that each terminal has a similar, integral, second conductor receiving portion protruding from the other end of the hole in the first housing member, a third housing member being similar to the second housing member and having a plurality of holes interns to receive the second receiving parts d e conductor of the terminals, respectively.
