Comprende: a) poner en contacto el material ferromagnético con un material antiferromagnético o con un material ferromagnético que tengan una temperatura crítica de Néel (del material antiferromagnético) o una temperatura crítica de Curie (del material ferromagnético) comprendida entre la temperatura ambiente y una temperatura inferior a la temperatura crítica de Curie del material ferromagnético cuya coercitividad se desea aumentar y b) acoplar magnéticamente los dos materiales mediante tratamientos térmicos en presencia de un campo magnético hasta obtener una imantación no nula del material ferromagnético cuya coercitividad se desea aumentar.
