Description

The invention relates to a seam weaving machine for making a plastic fabric endless by means of a woven seam. To form the shed, the seam weaving machine has a jacquard machine, which is arranged below the shed and the harness cords are pulled back by tension springs attached above the shed.

Technical plastic fabrics for uses that require a uniform surface structure of the fabric, in particular flat-woven paper machine screens made of plastic monofilaments, are made endless by a woven seam. To produce a woven seam, the warp threads are exposed over a length of, for example, 15 cm at the ends of the fabric to be joined by removing the weft threads in this area. The woven seam in which the original weave is exactly restored is then formed from these warp thread fringes and the weft threads taken from a cut piece of fabric. For this purpose, an auxiliary weaving shed or seam weaving shed is stretched out of the removed weft threads, in which the removed weft threads act as auxiliary warp threads. The warp thread fringes protruding from the one fabric end and the other from the other fabric end are then alternately inserted as auxiliary weft threads in this seam weaving compartment.

The aligned warp thread fringes of one end of the fabric and the other end of the fabric are only woven into the so-called piercing point, at which point they are then led out of the fabric and later cut off. The stitching points are offset according to a certain pattern within the woven seam, which is of great importance for the tensile strength and quality of the woven seam. Jacquard machines are therefore particularly suitable for forming a seam weaving compartment with programmed stitching points and the use of a jacquard machine for producing a woven seam is known from EP-A-0 043 441. The jacquard machine is arranged in the usual way over the seam weaving compartment, so that the harness cords emerging on the underside of the jacquard machine can be guided in a straight path through the seam weaving compartment. The harness cords are pulled down by weights attached to the harness cords below the seam weaving compartment.

As is known from DE-C-704 153, the overall height of a weaving machine can be reduced in that the jacquard machine is constructed in such a way that the harness cords are led out at the top and the jacquard machine is then arranged below the shed. A tension spring grate is attached above the shed, in which tension springs are attached, which pull the harness cords back upwards. The use of return springs instead of weights also has the advantage that the working speed of the jacquard machine can be increased. Such an upside down arrangement of a jacquard machine in the manufacture of a woven seam for making a paper machine wire endless is known from EP-A-0 236 601. This type of arrangement of a jacquard machine is also generally known for ribbon looms. However, these are special cases. As a rule, jacquard machines are still arranged above the shed.

The invention has for its object to increase the performance of a seam weaving machine for the production of woven seams for making plastic fabrics endless and to make the arrangement so that an overall compact design of the seam weaving machine is achieved.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a seam weaving machine with the features of claim 1.

Surprisingly, it has been shown that the deflection of the harness cords by a total of 180 ° does not significantly impair the function of the jacquard machine.

The harness cords led out of the jacquard machine are first deflected into the horizontal by deflecting rollers and then deflected vertically upwards from the horizontal by several choir boards offset at an angle to one another, so that they can be guided past the jacquard machine upwards to the seam weaving compartment at a short distance. Above the seam weaving compartment they are on retraction springs e.g. Rubber cords (lycra pulls) attached.

This type of arrangement of the jacquard machines and the guiding of the harness cords enables, for example, the use of a commercially available, electronically controlled double-stroke open-pocket jacquard machine, where the change of subject is much faster than with standard jacquard machines.

An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. Show it:

Fig. 1 shows in section the arrangement of the jacquard machine 1 within a seam weaving machine for making a paper machine wire 2 endless. The paper machine wire 2 is guided around the jacquard machine so that the two fabric ends 3, 4 to be connected are spaced apart by e.g. 10 cm opposite. The fabric ends are clamped on stationary rails 5, 6. The jacquard machine 1 is located within the paper machine screen 2 and is moved on a guide track in accordance with the progress of the woven seam on rollers 7.

The harness cords 8 led downwards are deflected into the horizontal by deflecting rollers 9. A separate deflecting roller 9 is provided for each harness cord 8, the rollers 9 for the harness cords 8 being arranged in a row on a common axis. The deflection rollers 9 are arranged in a plane 10 lying at a flat angle, so that at the same time the width of the harness is substantially reduced by the deflection.

The harness cords 8 are then guided up to the shed 11 laterally next to the jacquard machine. The deflection from the horizontal vertically upwards is carried out by a total of 4 choir boards 12 in order to keep the deflection angle small for each choir board 12, the first choir board 12 is arranged vertically and the following choir boards are each tilted by an angle of approximately 30 ° with respect to the previous one, so that the last choir board lies horizontally. This type of redirection takes up little space and does not change the width of the harness. Immediately below the shed 11 is a harness board 13, which consists of two halves connected by a hinge joint and, in conjunction with a tension spring grate 14 arranged in the same way above the shed 11, an adaptation of the distance of the harness cords 8 to the distance of the auxiliary warp threads within the Shed 11 allows. This harness guide is described in the simultaneously filed EP patent application "Adjustable harness guide for the jacquard machine of a seam weaving machine" by the same applicant (own sign: 27750; = DE-U-92 15 440.9).

Fig. 2 zeigt das Nahtwebfach von der Seite. Fig. 2 shows the suture compartment from the side. The upper ends of tension springs 15 are fastened to the tension spring grate 14, which is only shown schematically, and eyelets 16 are fastened to the lower ends thereof. The harness cords 8 are guided from below to the eyelets 16, so that the harness cords 8 work against the retraction springs 15 and the seam weaving compartment 11 is stretched out by the eyelets 16 arranged between them.
