Abstract

The lamp is provided with an angled strip (1) with two side-pieces (2, 3) arranged at an angle to one another, to which are secured tubular lamps (6) arranged in a row. On at least one side-piece are fixed conductor paths (4, 5) which extend over the full longitudinal extent of the angled strips. Electrically conductive support elements (7) are secured to the insides of the side-pieces, forming the electrical connection with the conductor paths and holding the tubular lamps in position. The lamp forms an extremely simple lighting strip which can be supplied by the metre. Despite its extremely small dimensions it offers a high lighting power and is suitable for and adaptable to a very wide range of applications. Of particular advantage is the fact that the lamp can be used at the same time as a corner element for connecting two wall elements arranged at an angle to one another. Consequently the lamp can serve both as a lighting unit and also as a constructional element.

Description

The invention relates to a luminaire with tubular lamps arranged in a row, an angle bar with two legs arranged at an angle (α) to one another, conduction paths which are attached to at least one leg and each run continuously in the longitudinal direction of the angle bars, and electrically conductive tubular lamp holder elements, which are fastened on the inner sides of the legs by means of rivet connections, the rivet connections simultaneously representing the electrical connection between the respective conductor tracks and the mounting element, the mounting elements being alternately electrically connected to one of the conductor tracks, and the mounting elements having holes in which the conically tapered contact ends of the festoon lamps are held in position with simultaneous power supply to the contact ends.

A lamp of this type is known for example from CH-A-599 501. Two mounting elements are provided for each festoon lamp - one for each side of the festoon lamps - between which the festoon lamps are inserted. Adjacent mounting elements are attached to different legs of the angle bar. For each festoon lamp, two mounting elements must be provided, which must be attached to the conductor tracks. The conductor tracks are attached to the inside of the legs, that is to say in the immediate vicinity of the tubular lamps, so that they are heated to a relatively high temperature by convection or by radiation transfer. The legs to which the conductor tracks are attached are made of a non-conductive, electrically insulating material, for example plastic, whose thermal conductivity is very low, so that the temperature to which the metallic conductor tracks are heated is only slightly below the temperature of the festoon lamp lie. Due to the significantly different coefficients of thermal expansion of the metallic conductor track and the insulating leg material to which the conductor track is rigidly attached, strong mechanical stresses occur, which cause the lamp to curl and warp or even break. There is also the possibility that the connection between the metallic conductor track and the insulating leg material breaks. In any case, the luminaire is mechanically unstable due to the thermal conditions, which in particular considerably reduces the reliability and service life of this known luminaire.

Furthermore, from WO-A-85/05433 and from EP-A-0 126 023 lamps in the form of an angle bar with festoon lamps are known, in which in turn two mounting elements are provided for each festoon lamp. The mounting elements are formed in one piece with the conductor tracks, the mounting elements having broken out of the conductor tracks. The conductor track is placed on the outside of the legs and the mounting elements protrude through a corresponding hole in the interior of the lamp. A disadvantage of this luminaire is that the conductor cross-sections are very greatly reduced in their conductor cross-section at these points by breaking out the mounting elements from the conductor material. This means that the lamp can only be operated with a low current, which is particularly disadvantageous because such lamps usually have to be operated in the low-voltage range and high currents are required for a corresponding output. In addition, it is disadvantageous in the known lamps that it is difficult to adapt them to festoon lamps with different lengths or diameters. For each type of festoon lamp, individual tools must be provided, both for the production of conductor tracks and for the manufacture of corner strips be to provide the conductor tracks with the corresponding cutouts for the manufacture of the mounting elements and the angle bar with corresponding holes for the passage of the mounting elements. In addition, the production effort of such strips is considerable, since punching tools are required for the breakout of the mounting elements from the conductor tracks and holes in the legs for the passage of the mounting elements as well as for fastening elements such as rivets etc. have to be punched.

A lamp is known from FR-A-331 441, in which two conductors are provided which extend parallel to the lamp. In addition, the luminaire has mounting elements which have two tabs for holding one end of two tubular lamps each and which are fastened in an insulated manner to a housing. From these mounting elements lead wires lead to the leads lying parallel to the lamp. The individual mounting elements in turn consist of various element parts that are fastened to each other and to other lamp parts by screws. The manufacturing effort for the individual parts of the mounting element and the assembly of the same are very time-consuming and complex. In addition, a connection line to the lines running parallel to the lamp is additionally required from each mounting element, which further increases the manufacturing outlay and in particular also affects the operational safety of this known lamp.

From US-A-1 484 211 a luminaire in the form of an angular strip is known with lamps which are specially designed for the unspecified lamps and which essentially occupy the full diameter in an O-shaped structure formed from side walls. By means of this base for fastening the lamps, the lamp space is divided into individual ones Segments divided so that no uniform illumination is possible across the lamp, but dark areas appear at these points with the bases. In addition, the bases are very complex. The electrical lines are arranged within the triangle. This luminaire arrangement is very complex in terms of its individual parts without obvious advantages and is not suitable for mass production of luminaires at low cost.

The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a luminaire of the type mentioned at the outset, which can be produced in the simplest manner, can be operated with the greatest possible amperage for a given amount of material and can be easily adapted to different sizes of festoon lamps.

This object is achieved in that the mounting elements each have two resilient tabs, that a mounting element is used to hold one end of each two tubular lamps, and that the conductor tracks are provided on the outside of the leg or on the outside of the leg.

Due to the feature according to the invention that the mounting elements each have two resilient tabs for mounting one end of each of two tubular lamps, it is possible to provide only one mounting element on average for each tubular lamp.

One advantage is that the production is very simple since only relatively few mounting elements have to be attached. Additional fastening measures for fastening the conductor track are not necessary, since the fastening elements, for example rivet connections, also serve to fasten the mounting elements to the fastening of the conductor tracks to the legs. Because of the simple type of assembly and the fastening of the individual elements due to the mounting elements according to the invention for holding one end of two festoon lamps each, it is also possible to design the angle strips in a simple manner for different dimensions of festoon lamps. For longer festoon lamps, only the distances when riveting the mounting elements to the legs or the conductor tracks need to be increased. If festoon lamps with a larger or smaller diameter are used, only other mounting elements with correspondingly longer or shorter tabs are used.

In connection with the other features of the invention, it is particularly advantageous if the conductor tracks are provided on the outside of the leg or on the outside of the leg, since the electrically insulating leg material, preferably a plastic, as a thermal separation of the conductor tracks from the tubular lamps serves.

Furthermore, the risk is reduced that, for example, short-circuits are caused by conductive objects falling on the light strip, since the outer sides of the legs are usually fastened to walls, walls, etc. and the cable trays are thereby covered and protected.

With the features according to the invention, this results in a very simple luminaire which, depending on the circumstances, can be used or installed in any length practically by the meter, for example as shop window, caravan or boat lighting, as backlighting of stucco work and beams, as indirect room lighting or handrail light, as a shelf or showcase light, as a cabinet light, mirror light, staircase light or hanging cupboard light for kitchens, for use in indoor or outdoor spaces etc. The user only needs to cut and attach the light for the respective adjustment as by the meter and is not ready , instructed in their dimensioned luminaires.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the conductor tracks for the two electrical phases for the electrical supply of the festoon lamps are isolated from one another on one leg of the angle strip. However, it is particularly advantageous to attach one of the two continuous line pairs to one leg of the angle strip. As a result, the possibility of a short circuit is essentially eliminated or no measures are required to provide insulation between the line pairs in order to reliably prevent short circuits.

For the manufacture of the lamp according to the invention, it is advantageous if the mounting elements are fastened to the legs by means of at least one rivet connection, the rivet connection simultaneously being the electrical one Connection between the respective track and the support member represents. The production of such light strips is extremely effective and inexpensive in this way.

The angle α is preferably 90 °. Although the angle can be chosen arbitrarily and according to the respective application, it is advantageous in most cases that the angle is 90 °. In principle, it is also possible to provide a straight strip without a leg, that is to say no angled strip. The angle bar with legs, however, results in a mechanically much stiffer and more stable lamp, which in particular also represents a pleasing shape.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the luminaire is provided as an angle element for connecting two edge elements arranged at an angle to one another. In this way, the lamp itself forms a component or connecting element for the mechanical connection of wall elements, so that the lamp fulfills two functions, namely as a mechanical component on the one hand and as a lamp on the other. This combination is particularly advantageous, since anyone can now easily assemble and manufacture showcases, room shapes or containers of any dimensions with the luminaire according to the invention by connecting wall, glass or mirror elements, the angle element being used simultaneously as a lighting fixture serves and not only in an appealing manner, but also in terms of lighting technology very effectively enables illumination of the assembled element or container. Luminaires with an angle α of 90 ° are used for a square or rectangular room element, whereas luminaires are used as an angle element with an angle α of 135 ° for an octagonal room element. For example, it is also possible to easily assemble and combine glass, mirror or other walls, such as zigzag walls, with the luminaires as angular elements in this way, the angles serving as mechanical connecting elements serving according to the invention as lighting elements.

A further embodiment of the luminaire according to the invention is that devices for fastening a translucent cover strip are provided on or in the vicinity of the angle ends. The fastening devices can, for example, be grooves in which the cover strips are inserted, but clip or snap devices can also be used. The translucent cover strip, for example a plastic strip similar to milk glass, results in a more diffuse, more uniform light which is more suitable for certain applications than the direct light from the festoon lamps.

For certain applications, it is advantageous for the lamp to have a cover so that it is not viewed directly into the tubular lamps. According to a further embodiment of the invention, devices for fastening such a covering corresponding to the fastening devices for a cover strip are provided on or near the leg ends.

Another embodiment of the invention is to provide the lamp in a device for removable attachment to mirrors, glasses, pictures, etc. The removable device, which carries the lamp according to the invention, can for example be plugged onto the object to be illuminated by means of a clamp-like device.

In order to be able to optimally utilize the light emitted by the festoon lamps and to direct it towards an object, the inside of the angle bar is mirrored in accordance with a preferred embodiment. However, it is also possible to manufacture the angle bar from a translucent plastic, which creates a special effect.

The lamp is preferably operated at low voltage, so that no measures have to be taken to protect the conductor tracks, connections or the festoon lamps themselves from being touched.

  • Fig. 4 die erfindungsgemäße Leuchte als Winkelverbindung.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings, for example. Show it:
  • 1 shows an embodiment of the invention in perspective view,
  • Fig. 2 shows the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 in side view
  • 3 shows an exemplary embodiment of a device which holds the lamp according to the invention and serves as a mirror lamp,
  • Fig. 4 shows the lamp according to the invention as an angular connection.

Fig. 2), der im vorliegenden Ausführungsbeispiel 90° beträgt. The embodiment of a luminaire according to the invention shown in perspective in FIG. 1 and in a side view in FIG. 2 has an angle strip 1 which has two legs 2, 3. The legs 2, 3 enclose an angle α (see FIG. 2), which is 90 ° in the present exemplary embodiment. The legs 2, 3 are not made up to the intersection, but are connected by means of a cross member 40. For example, the angle bar consists of a plastic material, such as white or crystal-clear Macrolon.

On the outside of the legs 2, 3 there are conduction paths 4, 5 provided for the power supply of the substance lamps 6. The conductor tracks 4 and 5 run over the entire length of the light bar. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the conductor tracks are embedded in the material of the angle strip 1 on the outer sides of the legs 2 and 3.

On the inside of the legs 2, 3, festoon lamp mounting elements 7 are fastened, each of which has two resilient tabs 8. At the outer ends of the resilient tabs 8 there are holes 9, the diameter of which is selected so that the tapered ends 10 of the tubular lamps 6 can partially protrude into the hole. By slightly resiliently pushing away the resilient tabs, the festoon lamps 6 can be inserted between the resilient tabs 8 of two festoon lamp holder elements 7, the festoon lamps 6 then being held in position by the resilient tabs.

5 in Verbindung. The festoon lamp holder elements 7 are alternately fastened to the two legs 2 and 3, respectively. The support elements 7 are connected to the respective conductor track 4 or 5. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the tubular lamp holder element 7 is fastened to the leg 3 by means of a rivet 11, the rivet simultaneously forming the electrical contact between the conductor track 5 and the holder element 7. The rivet 11 is preferably arranged sunk on the outside of the leg 5 (as is not shown in FIG. 2) so that the outside of the leg 3 lies flat and snug when the light bar is attached to a wall.

5 in Verbindung. The mounting elements 7 are alternately fastened to the two legs 2 and 3 and are thus alternately connected to the conductor tracks 4 and 5.

This results in a parallel connection of the festoon lamps 6, so that if one of the festoon lamps fails or burns out, the others continue to burn.

Fig. 3 shows the application of the lamp according to the invention in connection with a mirror lamp. The device 31 provided for this purpose according to FIG. 3 has a rectangular space 32 which is open on one long side. At the end of the short side walls 36, 37 of the open space 32 there are recesses 33 on the inside for receiving and holding the lamp according to the invention.

In this embodiment of the invention, a translucent cover strip 34 is provided, which has projections 39, between which the lamp 1 is inserted elastically. For this purpose, the leg ends 38 of the lamp 1 are somewhat flattened on the outside, as can be seen in FIG. 3.

The cover strip 34 with the lamp 1 clamped thereon is then elastically pressed or inserted into the recesses 33 of the legs 36 and 37 of the holding device 31.

The translucent cover strip 34 shown in FIG. 3 can advantageously also be used in connection with the luminaire 1 if the luminaire 1 is fastened to a holder, for example with the transverse part 4, and the ends of the legs 2 and 3 are exposed. The translucent cover strip 34 is preferably made of an elastic plastic, so that the cover strip can be attached to and removed from the light 1 in a light and elastic manner, for example to replace tubular lamps. In this way, a type of modular system with a few components is obtained in a simple manner, with which the lamp 1 can be adapted to the most varied forms of use in the simplest and most cost-effective manner and by means of very little effort, which can also be applied by laypersons.

The cover strip can be snapped on by simply pressing light 1.

The main advantage of the present invention, to supply it by the meter and to adapt it in the simplest way to the space and light requirements, is also preserved, because the cover strip or the mounting device 31 can also be cut to the desired length by the user, just like that Light 1 itself.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the wall elements 41 and 42 have an angle of 90 ° to one another. However, it is also possible to design the lamp 1 so that the legs 2 and 3 of the lamp 1 form an angle other than 90 °, for example 135 °, depending on the application, so that the lamp 1 is also used as an angle element for connecting two Wall elements can be used which are to be arranged at an angle other than 90 °, for example at an angle of 135 °.

According to the embodiment and application form shown in FIG. 4, an isosceles outer angle 43 is provided, the legs of which in the illustrated embodiment form an angle of 90 °. The outer angles can be made of metal, for example. This outside angle is fastened to the lamp 1 with stud bolts 44 in such a way that
that between the outer angle and the inside-mounted lamp side groove remain free, in which the wall elements 41 and 42 are inserted and clamped. Depending on the application, the wall elements 41 and 42 can be glass or mirror panes or other walls made of any material. As shown in FIG. 4, the stud bolts 44 are firmly attached, for example soldered, at a certain distance from one another in the inner angle of the outer angle 43.

The lamp 1, which has corresponding holes, is then plugged onto the stud bolts 44. By tightening a nut 45, the wall elements 41 and 42 are firmly clamped between the outer angle 43 and the lamp 1.

Of course, other forms of fastening and devices are also conceivable for a person skilled in the art to use the lamp 1 as an angle element for the construction of boxes, showcases, etc.

In the vicinity of the leg ends 2 and 3 of the lamp 1, as shown in FIG. 4, grooves 46 are provided on the inside for fastening a cover strip 47, which in turn has corresponding projections for fastening in the grooves 46. The cover strip can be attached in a simple manner simply by being pressed on and is easily removable if, for example, a burnt-out tubular lamp is to be replaced.

With the embodiment and application form of the luminaire 1 shown in FIG. 4, illuminated display cases, glass showcases and other bodies can be produced at extremely low cost, the user enjoying a conceivably free scope in the design of such objects. The result is optimally illuminated rooms, showcases, etc., such as are particularly suitable for decorative purposes, for exhibitions, shop window decorations, etc. It is of particular importance that the lamp is extremely small and inconspicuously dimensioned, but there is still a high light output.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the dimensions of the light bar are 1.5 x 3.5 cm, and the length can be 4 m and more. Depending on the intended use, the user can cut the lamp to length practically like yard goods and adapt it to the desired forms of use.

In the embodiment shown, 20 soffit lamps are provided per 100 cm, which can have 5 or 10 watts of individual power as desired, so that there is a light output of 100 or 200 watts per 100 cm.

The lamp according to the invention is preferably operated in the low-voltage range, for example with 6 V, 12 V or 24 V, so that the lamp can also be used in particular in outside or damp rooms. In addition, it is therefore particularly suitable for children's rooms,

The connection of the conductor tracks 4, 5 to a transformer or to the network can, for example, take place via terminals which are attached to the ends of the legs 2, 3 and form an electrical contact with the conductor tracks 4 and 5, respectively. According to another embodiment of the invention, plugs in contact with the conductor tracks 4 and 5 can also be provided at the end of a lamp, via which the lamp is supplied with current. For longer lengths, it is possible to electrically connect several rails with coupling clamps or connectors.
