Description
Profile strip for holding a pane of glass in a frame The object of the invention is to show a novel way of glazing windows.
So far, glass panes in wood, metal or plastic frames are either cemented or the like by inserting rubber or plastic plates in appropriately shaped profiles, possibly with the aid of screwed terminal strips. attached. This requires either a high amount of work (putty spatula on the wooden frame, inserting the glass pane, pinning the glass pane with sheet steel corners, cementing the remaining joint with triangular cross-section) or a considerable constructive effort for corresponding terminal strips and the like.
The present invention accordingly relates to a profile strip for holding a pane of glass in a frame, which is characterized in that the profile strip made of elastic material has a self-adhesive adhesive layer on at least one side.
This makes it possible for the first time to have window panes installed in conventional frames by only semi-skilled workers. The self-adhesive adhesive layer is advantageously coated in a known manner with a protective film which is separated off immediately before the seal is applied.
Because of the required softness and elasticity, the profile is preferably Herge made of natural rubber; Under certain circumstances, it has to withstand or bridge major unevenness in the normal window glass and in the wooden frame, as well as the wind pressure that occurs in particular with large panes of glass. But there are also synthetic, elastic materia lien for the production of the profile strip in question, such as plasticized mixtures of chlorine rubber or chlorosulfonated polyethylene.
The profile strip can consist of a core and a cover layer, natural rubber or synthetic elastic materials being considered for the core, but preferably aging and weather-resistant synthetic elastic materials are to be used for the cover layer. Chlorinated rubber or chlorosulfonated polyethylene are very suitable for such a coating layer.
In order to further improve the nestling against unevenness, there is also the possibility of using a profile strip made of porous, elastic material, preferably made of closed-pore or partially closed-pore material. Foam or cellular rubber may be mentioned here as suitable materials.
It should also be mentioned that not only the profile strip or the core can consist of porous material, but also the weatherproof cover layer.
In the drawing, various Ausführungsfor men of the present invention are exemplified in more detail. It denotes 1 the window frame, 2 the glass pane and 3 the Dichtungspro fil according to the invention. In Fig. 1 this sealing profile is formed as a rechtswinkeli ges isosceles triangle, the min least one horizontal cathetus 3a, but preferably ever but also the vertical cathetus 3b, are provided with a self-adhesive adhesive layer.
In Fig. 2, the sealing profile 3 'is trapezoidal and is provided with a self-adhesive adhesive layer on at least one of the two long, mutually parallel sides, but preferably on both. The glass pane is fixed, for example, by a wooden profile 4 and a nail S.
In Fig. 3 a sealing profile according to the invention is shown enlarged in cross section. 6 denotes a core made of Moss or cellular rubber based on natural rubber, for example, 7 an - possibly porous - aging and weather-resistant layer of chlorine rubber material, 8 a self-adhesive adhesive layer applied to the two long sides and 9 one each Tear-off film on these adhesive layers.
