Description
Sie besitzen da her weniger Leimfugen.
Process for the production of middle layers for carpentry purposes. The invention relates to a method for the production of middle layers such as those used in carpentry. Up until now, the middle layers were made from scrap boards in an elaborate process, after which they were expensive due to the need to read according to the tree ring direction and the various processing involved. In spite of this, due to the still uneven direction of the tree rings, the desired quality was not produced. In contrast, the fact that logs are processed in the present method enables a uniform operation.
The application of the method is illustrated, for example, by the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a trunk that is cut in the cross cut, that is, the first time it is halved, and then both parts are halved again, namely the cuts go through the pith; Fig. 2 shows a quarter. The quarters are divided again and cut into sixteenths as required; there are thus wedge-shaped parts; Fig. 3 illustrates how the wedge-shaped parts are glued together with the wedge edges alternately on one side and on the other to form a block. Here it is useful if you start at the bottom with a piece that is only half as thick as the one on top. The block should also end with an equal piece (one sixteenth).
This achieves a greater yield because the end faces are so perpendicular to the broad surfaces.
Here it is also shown how the block has to be cut into boards, all of which have horizontal annual rings. These boards are again glued together to form a block, as shown in FIG. 4; therein, the true-to-scale lines delimit the boards glued to one another, as shown in FIG. The vertical broken lines illustrate how this block is cut into the now raw middle layers with standing growth rings.
Fig. 5 shows the front side of the middle layers, which now consist of rods, all of which have standing annual rings.
If the block according to FIG. 3 is cut into boards in the real direction instead of in the vertical direction as indicated there, then there are also middle layers with standing year rings, which do not consist of chopsticks, but of board strips. You therefore have fewer glue joints. They can be used for various purposes, for example for single-sided veneering and for cheaper furniture:
