Apparently, if you don't have a menu item, you can't paste using ctrl-v or cmd-v. This pull request adds the menu necessary.

Interesting, here the shortcuts work without this.

I tried this anyway, but the menu entries do not work. If I select Cut for example, nothing happens. Shortcuts keep working as usual though.

Out of curiosity, are using OSX?

Just to answer my previous question, yes, you are using OSX.

Yes, selector and role work equally well on OS X. Sorry for the delay. Pushed a new commit using role instead :)
