[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Midnight Studio, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ben (singer). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Requesting Edit for Stray Kids Article
[edit]Hello! I am messaging on behalf of the global fanbase for Stray Kids. I'm not sure if you're the right person to try and contact about this, so let me know if it would be better to contact someone else!
We were approached about possibly changing the opening paragraph of the Stray Kids article, since we think it's leading to repeated mentions of irrelevant topics in news articles and reports.
Current: Stray Kids (Korean: 스트레이 키즈; RR: Seuteurei Kijeu; often abbreviated as SKZ) is a South Korean boy band formed by JYP Entertainment through the 2017 reality show of the same name. The group is composed of eight members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. Originally a nine-piece group, member Woojin left due to undisclosed personal reasons in October 2019.
Proposed Edit Options:
1. Simply remove the last sentence and don't replace it with anything, as it doesn't need to be mentioned in the opening abstract. This information is also provided in the sidebar, history section, and members section.
2. Replace the last sentence with something that highlights their composition and production credits, as this isn't mentioned thoroughly in the article. Basic suggestion provided below.
The group is credited for writing and producing the majority of their own music, as well as a few songs for JO1 and NiziU.
I hope some type of change is possible, and thank you for your hard work! Jenniferjinx (talk) 08:50, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Jenniferjinx Hello, I'm not sure if I can help much but I'll try my best to help.
- Especially for number 1, we can not remove it from the sentence since the group was originally nine members. In the opening paragraph, we should define or identify the topic with a neutral point of view as per WP:OPEN. The similar request had been requested and replied by other user on Stray Kids talk page. Replacing it with other similar sentence can be implemented but need to be neutral as per WP:VOICE with reliable source provided. You can try to contact a more experienced editor for this but I think they'll say similar things...
- For number 2, your suggestion can be implemented. I'll inform you when I've done some edits ^^ Shenaall (talk) 03:58, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! I honestly think Option 2 is better than Option 1, due to concern over censoring. Perhaps another possible change for the sentence could be to not mention the number:
- Former member Woojin left due to undisclosed personal reasons in October 2019.
- I checked a few other groups' pages, and they don't always mention the number, which could be a happy middle ground solution.
- Examples:
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AB6IX
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasure_(band)
- I do think even if this change is made, I do think it would be nice to add the sentence about their producing/composing, as I think it is core to their identity and isn't really mentioned elsewhere. Jenniferjinx (talk) 06:42, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Jenniferjinx Hello, I've edited the summary as you requested. What do you think? Is that good enough? Also I'm planning to expand the Artistry section as well to support the self-producing title in summary. You can see my outline thoughts in my project space, please inform me if you have more suggestion to include in that section. Shenaall (talk) 03:53, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
Stray Kids article
[edit]Hi! I noticed you've been working on the article for Stray Kids, and while you've done a great job I'd like to inform you of one thing. While I was copyediting the artistry section, I noticed there were multiple sections very closely paraphrased (well, almost copied verbatim) from other sources. This is not okay on Wikipedia, as it causes copyright issues and is plagiarism. I cleaned up some of the issues I found, but let me point you to two examples from the previous version:
- Wikipedia: Stray Kids' music is generally dark and experimental, which fuse elements of hip-hop, dubstep, heavy metal, electroclash and jittery dance-pop.
- BBC: Stray Kids, in particular, have won an ardent fanbase for their dark and experimental albums, which fuse elements of hip-hop, dubstep, heavy metal, electro-clash and jittery dance pop.
- Wikipedia: Their grungier headbanging anthems, which incorporate rock, EDM, and even industrial leanings, were initially criticized for being too noisy, eclectic, and too "construction music-y" but they embrace and use it as their weapon with the album Noeasy.
- Time: The band’s grungier headbanging anthems, which incorporate rock, EDM, and even industrial leanings, were initially criticized for being too noisy and eclectic compared to their glossier K-pop contemporaries.
I see in your project subpage you have several sentences copied from other outlets (ex. one sentence about Thunderous copied from a Teen Vogue article)—you're probably just using them as reference, but that'll put your writing at risk of unoriginality (~copyright violations). There are ways to avoid close paraphrasing listed here, such as distancing yourself from the sources. I'll assume good faith since you seem not to have been notified about this before, but copyright violations are serious business here on Wikipedia.
Good day, Wuju Daisuki (talk) 03:58, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Wuju Daisuki Thank you for your reminder! It's true, I did not do much of re-paraphrasing for some sentences. I'm not an English native speaker so I was kind of troubled to find similar words that did not change the whole meaning, especially since this is my first time on expanding paragraph. I will be more careful in the future.
- Also, for my project subpage is it okay to leave it like that? Or should I remove it to avoid copyright violation too?

Stray Kids Artistry Page
[edit]Hello! I believe the old talk page for Stray Kids was archived, but I wanted to alert you that I am mostly finished proofreading the Artistry section. I have a bit more work to do in the performance subtopic. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for your hard work! Your additions were very extensive and I am making only minor grammatical edits at this time. :) Archerblue (talk) 04:58, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Archerblue, thank you for updating me about this! I checked it and noticed a possible typo on Noeasy wordplay part : "...the album title combines "no" and "easy" to mmean "not easy"..."
- You might currently editing when I noticed this so I'm telling you instead of edit it myself to avoid edit-conflict. Thank you so much for your help with proofreading and copyediting!

request for more info about Draft:Something Rhymes with Purple
[edit]Hi Shenaall: Thanks for taking the time to review the draft I submitted for review. Although I have contributed
My primary intent for this page is to provide a catalog of episodes for the podcast, which I can not find anywhere else in an easy-to-read, easy-to-search format. Is that permitted in wikipedia?
I purposely did not add the 'Catalog of Episodes' section to the draft page: I thought I would start very small and simple, then add the episode list once the page is published. Is that commonly accepted practice? Should I have included the episode catalog in the draft from the outset?
I also provided no more context or explanation about the podcast, taking to heart the dictum I have read in multiple locations not to make wikipedia pages promotional, and keeping in mind that the primary purpose of the page would be to hold a catalog of episodes rather than provide info about the podcast itself. Is that unacceptable? Rbd001 (talk) 22:56, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Rbd001 I think it is better to add more context with reliable source to prove that the subject of the article is notable enough for its own article page. Currently your draft did not have a sufficient context. You may add the Catalog of Episode section for more context but if the subject of the article did not satisfy the Notability your draft may be declined. The context that added to the draft article must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV). If you only make the catalogue of the episode while there is no article about the podcast, then the podcast will be seen as non-notable for an individual article therefore the catalogue of the podcast's episode also be seen as non-notable. This may result your article get deleted through WP:AFD even if it's survive WP:AFC. You should make sure the podcast notable enough before making the article about it's episode.
- Maybe there is an exception if one of the episode of the podcast were more popular then the podcast itself. If so, please consider adding the reference about it. Hope my explanation helps you, please ask more question if you don't understand something. I'll try my best to answer your question with some criteria / guidelines throughout the wikipedia.
—Shenaall(t♣c) 02:17, 9 July 2024 (UTC)- Very informative and clear, thanks. I have to work on substantiating its notability. I have six months to work on the draft (so early January 2025) before it gets auto-deleted, correct? Rbd001 (talk) 20:10, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Rbd001 If you edit the draft before the deadline (in between 6 months) then the deadline will extend (to be another 6 months after you last edited the page) so you can take time to work on the draft! As long as you did not abandoned the draft for 6 months long it will not get the auto-delete.

Hi ! I saw you made edits on a page about K-pop, so I decided reach out. Do you feel confident reviewing it? Maybe you know these k-pop songs. I listen to k-pop and made a page for something I listed to. I have been making contributions to wikipedia recently, to the unrepresented areas in entertainment. I had discussions with other editors about this draft on the talk page here of this editor. Many agreed it meets the WP:BIO The editor who reviewed it does not feel confident reviewing it, as they are not sure like me. I made a lot of improvements, and tried to keep it neutral. J2009j (talk) 05:21, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @J2009j! I think I can help you to point out what's need to be improved so the reviewers can review this easily. I hope this helps, mainly notes about the layout because the sequence seems a bit messy
- For Career section : The topic of this section is about his career so you can make two sub-sections (one for his producing career and one for his own music career)
- For the producing career, it will be great if you can find reliable source that mention his first work in producing and all of his notable works (also why is it notable, e.g:He was one of the producers of Madonna's "Joan the Arc" which was charted globally in France, Hungary, and X. The song has been named as one of Afsheen's best works). You can expand the section by mentioning all about his producing career there (also with reliable primary, secondary, and tertiary source) I'm not sure about his producing works other than Korean songs but you can see komca credit for Korean songs (but KOMCA website is considered as primary source so It'll be best if you can find other reliable sources in other languages, see WP:KO/RS for reliable sources for Korean news) - this subsection is kind of like summary of his producing works (for info about notability in producing see WP:PRODUCER, preferably mention his notable produced songs which got compliments from music critics)
- For his own musical career, you can start by stating his debut date (first own official release, either it's is his solo song or a collaboration). Then, it will be more informative if each his release has the date sequence (e.g: He released his first EP in early 2010. This EP consist of 00 songs etc. On Month 00 , 20XX, he collaborated with XXXX in the single "XXXXX" it charted on XXXXXXX) - this subsection is kind of like the summary of his musical work journey and what he achieved for his own songs and albums (summary but have to be detailed for determining his notability as musician)
- Musical style and influences section: You can also mention his early pop and electronic genre of songs for his musical style in production. Because of this section should be include his overall musical style, his musical style as producer need to be included as well (if the topic not long enough it can be included in this section without dividing to two subsections, only two paragraph of the section are also okay) Also need to be clear about the sentence, for "He also collaborated with Toby Gad" is it collaboration in producing or he was influenced by Toby Gad or how? It will be great if you rephrase it to be more clear
- Discography section: because his discography did not have each own article yet, you can make this section as information table rather than short list (you can see Zerobaseone#Discography for example) and you can also add composition credit subsection like Karina_(South_Korean_singer)#Composition_credits
- Charts section: for BLP article, I think this section is not needed, but rather mention this information in his discography section (for his own charted songs) or career section (for his produced songs)
- Awards and nominations section: Add this section to highlight his nomination at Latin Grammy and other awards
- For Career section : The topic of this section is about his career so you can make two sub-sections (one for his producing career and one for his own music career)
- I'm sorry I'm not really good at English grammar, feel free to ask if you did not sure of what I'm pointing.
- Overall review comment: Afsheen did not have many reliable secondary sources that is crucially needed for BLP article so this is a bit difficult to review. You can consider my suggestion above for future improvements. I haven't see each citations yet, so I will not comment about its reliability and verifiability. If I review the draft now as a reviewer, I will probably decline the submission again because of the limited information mentioned in the article (only mention a little bit about his Grammy nomination but did not mention which album got nominated, when is that happened; only mention a list of discography but not the songs chart, when it released, etc). This made me feel difficult to assess the article and determine his notability.
- Good work on this draft! I greatly applause you for this because I know that it's hard to build a Wikipedia article if the subject have limited reliable news sources. If the reliable sources are limited, you can use one source for multiple sentences but remember not to lean only on one source (BLP topic article is a bit more strict about reference and notability than other topics)
—Shenaall(t♣c) 03:41, 5 August 2024 (UTC)- Thank you so much for all of your suggestions. I tried to follow your advice. I found a web site of a radio with the list of credits. I made a spreadsheet with all of those credits I found, to expand the discography like you told me. It look like there is not just one song of Madonna, but way more. Let me know what you think. I appreciate you put time to tell me what parts to improve. There are not a lot of sources about this artist. J2009j (talk) 08:34, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- It is so funny. I asked in many places to someone review my draft and help me improve it. Only you gave me feedback, send me examples to follow, which I did. I was attacked by some random editor for asking help editing article. J2009j (talk) 00:02, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @J2009j! The current draft backlog is already overload with around 2500 pending submissions so please understand that all reviewers are trying their best to review all submitted drafts. If you're done improving the draft since the last decline, please kindly wait a reviewer to review your draft. While waiting for a reviewer, you can keep improving the draft since there is no deadline to publish your article. I suggest you to check other similar topic articles that already exist in the mainspace to provide you some examples of the accepted draft article (for example Adora (singer), Park Moon-young, Hyuk Shin, Slom (musician), etc.)
- To note, Wikipedia is strict in terms of conflict of interest and paid editors so all editors may receive that kind of question especially when you were actively ask about your draft on many editors' talk page and the teahouse. It is maybe not some kind of attacks toward you, but rather a simple question related to COI and Paid Editing (you might felt like being attacked because sometimes the questioning method quite ambiguous and seems like a warning rather than a simple question). Therefore, if you are not involved with the subject of your article personally and you are not being compensated in any way for editing then you just need to simply answer with yes or no for transparency. If you are not being compensated in any way, please continue editing then wait patiently for reviews. Thank you!
—Shenaall(t♣c) 01:33, 6 August 2024 (UTC)- Thank you. Someone wrote there, that the "tone" was not neutral. But I used information from the articles describing the style of the person. 🫠 J2009j (talk) 20:03, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- I see you contributed to a lot of articles about Korean artists this individual wrote songs for. I would trust you to review my draft if you would ever have time. I did not see much feedback from the regular editors from tea house, clearly having no clue about music industry. J2009j (talk) 06:31, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

Draft:Bang Chan
[edit]Hello, I am currently working on Draft: Bang Chan. However, I noticed that the article got declined can you help me with how I can improve so that it gets accepted? RDWolfgang (talk) 14:35, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @RDWolfgang! My reason of decline is stated on the Reviewer comment in Draft:Bang Chan as: "As of the past AfD from previous existing article (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bang Chan), this draft has not changed a lot except for the KOMCA regular member paragraph. This draft still need expansion with reliable sources" In my opinion, this draft need significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about Bang Chan in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject according to Notability guidelines for living person and Notability guidelines for a member of group so Bang Chan can be considered notable individually outside Stray Kids. In short, you need to improve information about Bang Chan with citations "about Bang Chan individually outside Stray Kids" or "with at least 2 or more paragraph about Bang Chan only on multiple reliable articles"
- Notes: I noticed that you make other draft titled Draft:Bang Chan draft, please do not work on that draft as there is already a draft about the same subject titled Draft:Bang Chan. You can work on the existing draft so there will be no double submission / article about the same subject. Thank you!
—Shenaall(t♣c) 08:32, 2 September 2024 (UTC)- Thank you so much for you response. I really appreciate it. I started working on the existing draft that got declined (Draft: Bang Chan). i have added few more information and more references can you please look at the draft and help me so that i can improve and it gets accepted?
- Thank You again! RDWolfgang (talk) 14:07, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
Draft:Hwang Hyun-jin
[edit]Hi there @Shenaall! I've been working on expanding the Hyunjin draft article over the past few days. The dancing/performance and danceracha sections still need more detail, and I haven't touched the discography or filmography sections, but if you could give it a quick glance when you've got a moment to spare (no rush!), I'd appreciate any feedback you may have on any further improvements to be made before the article is resubmitted for approval. Thank you! LycheeQuokka (talk) 12:08, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @LycheeQuokka, thank you for your help! I will look thoroughly at the draft later when I finished to review the improvement of Han article. It would be great if you can help with the inconsistent date format in the article's body and references date (you can use mdy/dmy format and correct the maintenance template) --for example in this edit where I add the "use mdy dates" template and change a date format from dmy to mdy.

[edit]Hello, Shenaall. This is a courtesy notice that the copy edit you requested for Stray Kids at the Guild of Copy Editors requests page is now complete. All feedback welcome! Cheers, Baffle☿gab 03:51, 7 October 2024 (UTC) |
- Hello @Baffle gab1978! Thank you for your attention on the article, I noticed typo "inn Seoul" in this section and a change for the members order in the lead (to be in alphabetical order), for South Korean band article usually use the age order (example: BTS & Blackpink). I will edit those as soon as you done with the copy-edit to avoid edit conflict. Thanks!
—Shenaall(t♣c) 01:33, 3 October 2024 (UTC)- No problem; yes I rearranged the names in alphabetical order, i didn't know there was a convention of age order, which seems obscure if one doesn't know their ages or if the ages are very close together! Thanks for noticing the typo... my keyboard cannot splee propper no more! :D Cheers, Baffle☿gab 04:55, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Shenaall, I've now finished my copy-edit. I removed some text that I thought was either promotional or wandering off-topic; otherwise it was a straightforward c/e. I've noted my removals in my edit summaries. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 03:51, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

The article now looks more like an tabloid rather than an wikipedia article. A help from you would be very appreciated! Thank you!! Ilikeyoutoo yay! Ilikeyoutoo yay!
