- English: The Levant is the geographic region and culture zone of the eastern Mediterranean littoral between Anatolia and Egypt, also known as north-western Arabia.
- العربية: الشام أو سوريا التاريخية، أو سورية الطبيعية هو اسم تاريخي للمنطقة الممتدة على الساحل الشرقي للبحر الأبيض المتوسط. في المفهوم الشائع لدى معظم الناس حالياً، تشمل "الشام"; سورية ولبنان والأردن وفلسطين المحتلة والأراضي التي أقيمت عليها دولة إسرائيل عام 1948. بالإضافة إلى لواء الإسكندرون وقيليقية وجنوب تركيا وصولا إلى جبال طوروس.
