I believe in giving back and working to improve our communities and have a proven record of doing so. I have proven experience as 1) a successful business owner who understands the importance of the Texas economy 2) an elected official who served on public school board of a large diverse district for two terms, advocating for the best education for our students, and 3) a responsible conservative who has been actively involved in our community at the local level. We face important decisions ahead on issues of the economy, and explosive growth in our population. As a community leader and business owner, I bring with me the necessary and proven experience of working and collaborating throughout our community to get things done. I am eager to put my experience and passion as successful business owner to work for the people of HD-65.

  • - We need real property tax reform. As a 25-year property taxpayer in Denton County, one who has worked with the Denton County Appraisal District in my role as LISD Trustee, I bring the understanding of the complex appraisal and taxing process to be able to work for legislation that makes a real difference.
  • - We need to secure the Texas border for our safety now and to protect our future. We must prevent unregulated weapons and dangerous drugs like fentanyl from coming across the border. We must stop human trafficking, which is a statewide epidemic. I understand first-hand the deadly effects these porous borders have on our communities in North Texas, and I am committed to collaborating with state and federal legislative and law enforcement agencies for real impactful policies.
  • - We need to provide a quality education that prepares our future workforce. As a businesswoman, I understand the importance of making Texas children ready to go out into the world and be contributing members of society. As a Master Trustee, who has visited districts all over Texas, I have a unique perspective on the issues affecting our urban, suburban and rural districts alike. We do not need more sound bites on public education; Texas needs bold leadership and I am uniquely qualified and equipped to step into this role and get the job done.

- As an advocate in the community who has worked directly with homeowners and community groups, I know the importance of reforming the property tax system and continuing the fight to cut property taxes. We need to ensure that families are not taxed out of their homes. The solution will be complicated; the Legislature cannot simply default to hammering on local jurisdictions to provide relief.
- We must prioritize secure borders for the health and safety of Texas. Working in CPS and community crisis centers means I’ve seen the tragic impacts of the flow of human trafficking and drugs crossing our borders.
- We must prioritize jobs and the economy. As an active member of multiple Chambers of Commerce in HD-65, I have spoken to so many business owners, to check in on them and ask how we can help them during this time. We need to focus on identifying areas where we can reduce regulations on Texas business owners and employers in order to bring back our strong workforce and economy.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Texas

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
