Ice Temple is a Level in Tri Force Heroes.[1] It is the fourth Level in the Ice Cavern Area, and is preceded by Silver Shrine.

Themes and Navigation

Ice Temple consists of a frozen palace set high above the sky. Ice Stalagmites and snow mounds found throughout the Level often have Rupees and Hearts inside them, and may be broken with the Magic Hammer or melted with the Fire Gloves provided. The Temple has several icy floors, giving it poor traction. As such, the Cozy Parka can be helpful here.

Riding a floating platform to the third Item, Stage 1

In Stage 1, the Links begin at a platform where immediately to their right is a narrow, frozen walkway blocked by an Ice Stalagmite. A pair of Magic Hammers are immediately provided, which can smash away the obstacle. After taking one, the Links' attention is brought to the Fire Gloves in a room further away. The Links carefully walk the path to an ice-covered platform with several Terrorpins walking around, who can be flipped over with the Magic Hammer to expose their weak underbellies. To the north and east are some Moles; the ones to the east spring the Links across a gap toward the Triforce Gateway, but the other side of the gap is blocked by two Ice Stalagmites. The Mole to the north is blocked by tall Stakes, which can be pounded down by forming a Totem and using the Magic Hammer. This Mole will launch the Links into a pit, unless they pound it with the correct timing so that they land on a moving platform. This takes the Links to a high-up ledge with three Floor Switches, which open the door to the Fire Gloves. After taking the final Item, the Triforce Gateway is activated, and the Links can now melt the Ice Stalagmites in order to reach it.

Stage 2

Stage 2 features a giant, snowflake-shaped platform with numerous tiles of ice, which will gradually crack under the Links' weight, and can also be broken with the Magic Hammer or melted with the Fire Gloves. This will create holes that the Links can fall through if they are not careful. The ice however will shortly freeze over again. As the Links approach the area, a horde of Deadrocks spawn. The Links must defeat them by striking them with the Sword or any Object to stun them, then smash them with the Magic Hammer, while also being careful of the ice tiles. It is also possible to break an ice tile while a Deadrock is standing on it, sending them into the pit below. Several snow mounds and Ice Stalagmites around the Stage can be destroyed for Hearts, Blue Rupees and Energy Potions. Once all the Deadrocks are defeated, a bridge to the Triforce Gateway appears.

Allowing Snowballs to block cold streams, Stage 3

In Stage 3, the Links appear at another walkway leading to a frozen path where giant Snowballs continuously fall from a chute and roll to the east. A tall Stake in the middle of the path blocks the Snowballs, and must be pounded down to allow them to continue rolling. The Snowballs will pass in front of several streams of frigid air as it rolls by, allowing the Links to safely pass them on a parallel path. At the end of that path is a Mole which springs the Links to the ledge above, where another chute sends Snowballs rolling to the west. The Links must again use the Snowballs to pass more streams of cold air, this time along a narrow and icy walkway. They soon come to another Mole must be used to jump over a gap, but it must be timed well so that a stream of cold air at the landing point is blocked by a Snowball just in time. Across the gap, the Links come to a stairway heading north toward a chasm, with the Triforce Gateway on the other side. Several Keese and an Ice Keese flying above the chasm and may attack the Links; on a nearby ledge is a Treasure Chest containing a Red Rupee. To cross the chasm, the Link with the Fire Gloves must light a row of Torchlight by sending a fireball bouncing across them; this creates a bridge to the Triforce Gateway, where several nearby {Plural|TFH|Pot|link}} and a Squiddy can help regain any lost Hearts.

Battling Blizzagia in Stage 4

Stage 4 is where Blizzagia is fought in a large, cavernous arena. The Links appear on a ledge to the west, where several Rocks and Ice Stalagmites can be destroyed for Hearts. A similar ledge can be found on the opposite side. Once the Links drop into the arena floor, the battle against Blizzagia begin, and the Boss will randomly retreat into and emerge from any of five caves along the north end. At some point during the battle, Blizzagia will breathe cold air all over the arena, covering it with a layer of ice.

Drablands Challenges

Once Blizzagia has been defeated, the Ice Temple can be replayed with the following Drablands Challenges: "Fewer Heart Containers!", "Don't get hit by snowballs!", and "Transport the orb quickly!".

In "Transport the orb quickly!", the Links are given a timer of two minutes in Multiplayer, or three minutes and 30 seconds in single-player. This timer can be increased by collecting Hourglasses or wearing Linebeck's Uniform.

At the end of the Level, three Treasure Chests can be opened. Two contain the same Material, and one contains another, more valuable Material.
