케이요 스포츠는 스트림모션(Foxtel의 전유 자회사)이 소유하고 있는 호주에서 이용할 수 있는 오버톱 동영상 스트리밍 구독 서비스다. 이 서비스는 폭스 스포츠, ESPN, BEIN 스포츠, Racing.com에서 스포츠 라이브와 온 디맨드를 제공한다.

역사

2018년 3월, Foxtel은 전통적인 위성이나 케이블에 가입할 의사가 없는 고객들에게 호소하기 위해 스포츠 스트리밍 서비스를 조사중이라고 보도되었다. 당시 이 서비스는 9개월 이상 개발 중이었으나 아직 녹색 불이 켜지지 않은 것으로 알려졌다. 새로운 서비스는 Foxtel 브랜드를 사용하지 않을 것으로 보고되었다.[3] 2018년 8월 Foxtel은 이 새로운 스포츠 스트리밍 서비스에 녹색 불이 들어왔다고 보고되었는데, 이 서비스는 Project Martian이라는 코드였다. 포스텔이 최근 크리켓 호주와 6년 새 방송 계약을 맺은 데 이어 크리켓 이벤트와 맞물려 2018년 말 서비스를 시작할 것으로 예측됐다.[4][5] 2018년 10월 Optus Sport가 2018 FIFA 월드컵에서 경험한 것과 유사한 기술적 문제를 피하기 위해 추가 테스트를 실시하기 위해 당초 11월 초에 서비스를 시작할 계획이었으나 12월 초로 연기된 것으로 알려졌다.[6] 2018년 11월 5일, Foxtel은 ESPN을 포함한 탐사를 하고 있다고 보고되었다.가요스포츠로 불릴 정도로 구설에 올랐던 IN Sports in the services in Kayo Sports.[7]

2018년 11월 9일, 케이오 스포츠라고 불리는 새로운 서비스가 공식적으로 발표되었고, 그날 베타 형태로 출시되었다. 출시 당시 이 서비스는 폭스 스포츠, ESPN, 그리고 50개 이상의 스포츠를 제공했다.IN 스포츠 네트워크는 온 디맨드 방식으로 작동한다. Foxtel의 CEO Patrick Delany는 이 서비스를 "스포츠의 넷플릭스"[8]라고 표현했다. 베타 론칭에 대한 긍정적인 반응에 이어 2018년 11월 26일 케이오스포츠가 공식 출범했다.[9][10]

2019년 5월 6일 케이오스포츠는 Racing.com을 추가했다.[11]

2021년 2월, 텔스트라(모기업 포스텔의 일부 소유주)가 케이오스포츠와의 접속이 가능한 게임 스트리밍을 제공하는 내셔널 럭비 리그와 오스트레일리아 풋볼 리그 모바일 앱에서 텔스트라 라이브 패스 서비스를 대체한다고 발표되었다.[12]

2021년 5월 현재 케이오스포츠는 총 가입자 수가 100만명을 넘어섰다고 발표되었으며 유료 가입자들은 그 이정표에 곧 도달할 것으로 예상된다.[13]

오리지널 프로그래밍

카요 스포츠의 첫 번째 오리지널 프로그램인 보닛 아래는 2021년 3월 25일에 초연되었다. 매주 열리는 슈퍼카 챔피언십 테마 토크쇼는 데이비드 레이놀즈와 마이클 카루소가 진행한다.[23]

유용성

케이요 스포츠는 2단계 가입 모델(기본 또는 프리미엄)을 제공한다.[24] 케이요 스포츠는 웹 브라우저, 모바일 앱(Android 및 iOS), 엄선된 스마트 텔레비전과 미디어 콘솔을 통해 이용할 수 있다.[25]

카요 프리비즈

2021년 1월, 케이오 스포츠는 가입자를 늘리기 위한 방법으로 케이오 프리비즈라는 기치 아래 선택된 스포츠와 프로그램에 대한 무료 접근을 제공할 것이라고 발표했다.[26] 현수막 아래 포함된 스포츠로는 파노라마 산 500,[26] A-리그 선택 경기,[26] W-리그 선택 경기,[26] 선코프 슈퍼 넷볼 2경기, 라운드 플러스 오스트레일리아 다이아몬드 게임,[27] 연방정부의 여성, 니케시 및 기타 대표 미달 스포츠 보조금에 따라 지원되는 모든 스포츠 등이 있다.[28]
