Friday evening after work, after being chained to my desk all damn week, I wanted to get some steps in while the restaurant was still making our dinner.
What a wonderful experience for getting steps in! Going to the gym is super expensive, the gym is littered with other people you have to walk around, some of whom are watching political news and pretending to work our. More than that, the gym smells like sweaty people. Blech!
The boulevard mall is amazing! I can run, skip, or jump through the whole place, and no one is gonna bother me. It's quiet and peaceful, UB polluted with too many stores or a loud food court that people would want to go to. Auntie Annie's smells like a cinnamon/olive oil infuser, which could be worse...!
If you're looking for an indoor place to get your steps in without being disrupted by people or stores or silliness like that, this mall gets 10 stars!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Oct 4, 2021
This mall is really going downhill. So many of the stores and restaurants are closed, it's depressing just walking through the mall. They also close at 7 during the week, which included turning off some of the lights in the common area at 6:55 PM - wow. I was surprised that a store I had a coupon for was still in the mall, which was the only reason I went.
The mall was clean though.
I feel bad for the stores that remain, even foot traffic was down.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Marlene A.NY, NY0302Jan 2, 2024
Understand management notified tenants to be out by January 6th...
Wonder what the new plans are?
It was always a clean mall and beautiful shopping experienceHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 33184876Mar 8, 2022
I've been known to watch a lot of abandoned mall videos, and I can definitely say that the Boulevard is on its way. As a kid, I frequented this mall with my family to shop for school clothes, to watch the carousel for all the non-horses as I ate at the food court, and actually waste a few hours. Gone are those days. This mall is dead, slowly decomposing as it loses big name stores, trying to mask the loss with piddly replacement stores. If you want to actually experience a mall, you're better off driving further out to one of its competitors, if you can even call them that. They aren't really in the race anymore.
I came with a pal on a Tuesday afternoon to find half of the stores closed, whether it be for the day or permanently. Some of the old standbys are still hanging on, like Spencers and Hot Topic, though they seem half as cramped as I remember them being. Bath and Body and JCP are still there for the more mainstream crowd, boasting clearance sales that quite frankly aren't worth driving out for. There's new kids in the house, if you want to shell out $4 for a single cookie, or over $20 a piece for a selfie experience. It's kind of sad to see that this place has gone so far down hill over the years, but that's the curse of the age of the internet.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 19, 2019Updated review

The Boulevard Mall is not that bad
It's definitely a shame to see this mall is dying, but with still enough people that come to it to keep it alive hopefully - and there are still enough hidden gems within these walls including food gems. Hopefully we'll keep it open for many years to come.
There's 2 boba shops in here... QTea is definitely the better one. Even though it doesn't exist on Yelp, but trust me, it's here. Part of the excellent Taste Of China, which has excellent Bourbon Chicken and American dishes.
And remember... don't boo the Boulevard.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 14Oh no 0Nov 15, 2014Previous reviewWelcome to the Buellervard Mall. Bueller. Bueller. Bueller. Bueller.
This mall is small and will go by fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
I can't stand malls, and this one has nothing on the enormous and impressive Galleria anyway. However there is a saving grace, and that is the fantastic food court, with both Bill Grays, and the best Greek Pita in Buffalo, the Chicken Souvlaki Pita at Pete's Greek Isles. But if you want a truly over the top American Mall experience, it has to be the Galleria.
Edit: Since the food court is now gone, I should really do what Darren did and lower it to 1, if only as a protest... but I'll keep it as a 2 if only for the memory of the awesome Scavenger Hunt we did here as a UYE in late 2014. - Apr 5, 2019
I must say ,this is my favorite mall to go to.
I've been coming here since before I was born.
(Yup,I was in my mommy's belly)
I used to hang out in the game room on the weekends,
the food court was amazing with many restaurants & a giant carousel.
They had a cotton candy machine in there,it was just the best.
There were no empty store spaces. This mall was hoppin !!!
Years passed & it got boring. They took out all the fun stuff, and the mall started going downhill.
BUT,I still love this mall because of the memories.
It still has some great stores in it & just walking through it ,for me,is nice.
FYE,Spencer's,Hot Topic,Bath & Body Works,JCPenney,TgiFridays, Taste of China, a couple clothing stores,a shoe store,As Seen on TV store, Auntie Anne's Pretzels ,etc.. are still all worth going there for.
Just sitting by the Water Fountain is a nice relaxing thing to do.
Before they close down for good,give this mall a walk through,do some shopping,sit by the fountain & enjoy it while it lasts.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Nov 25, 2018
So, I'm giving this place 4 Stars straight up because it suits me SO well.
Why does it suit me so well? Because it's the typical failing Mall. It barely has any stores you really want to go to. It's really clean. And it's very lightly attended... very lightly.
So that means, I don't bump in to anyone, have to talk to anyone... just go in and handle biz and dip out, unscathed.
Thank you failing mall! I'm not being sarcastic at all... like not at all. I love failing malls. I wish they were all this way.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 15Oh no 0 - Christopher C.Philadelphia, PA23538817Jul 10, 2022
Not much of a mall anymore. Comparing it to the past, it's really gone downhill. But, even in the present, it's just sad. Very few stores and not many are interesting. There's no food court, a decision they made years ago to replace it with a Dick's, so I feel bad for anyone who works there trying to get lunch.
I only come here for JC Penny when I don't feel like going to the Galleria. Even then, the Galleria has a better set up store and more stock.
Another review here mentioned that it's a very 18-27 clothing type of mall. I'd agree. Very young clothes shops and then a few others.
Parking is never an issue, but be prepared to get depressed walking past dark rooms and countless gates. Not that I'm mourning capitalism, but sad about the loss of another social space.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2017Updated review
The play area is still a pitiful downgrade from what they used to have, and the absence of a food court is glaring but they have a really nice family area including a couple sitting rooms for nursing mothers.
I haven't seen that in the other local malls so that may increase the appeal of this mall to families with smaller children.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 27, 2015Previous reviewThe old food court, original play area and carousel are gone because WNY is apparently hurting for more Dick's Sporting Goods. You know, if you overlook the fact that there's already a big one at the Galleria, and others located in strip malls nearby.
They do have a new play area elsewhere, but it's smaller and also virtually identical to Boise Towne Square. Seriously, I saw someone posting pictures of the new play area and got confused. There's a few things I'd like to bring here from Idaho like Twigs and BFC, not so much a play area my sons had long since outgrown. I even mentioned that in my original review - did they deliberately copy Boise Towne Square's play area to spite me?
So weird!
There's really no reason to come here now. I can never find what I want at Victoria's Secret in person so I usually order online. That goes for most stores.
Also, what kind of mall doesn't have a food court?Sep 20, 2014Previous reviewBoulevard Mall is a bit busier than Eastern Hills Mall, but spacious enough I never felt crowded. The food court has greater variety, and there's more popular stores but fewer novelties like the cute little toy store at Eastern Hills. Both are nice malls so I'd pick based on what stores I wanted to visit.
There is really cool play area my four year old sons enjoyed even though they were starting to outgrow the one at the mall we frequented when we lived in Boise. That gives this mall an edge over Eastern Hills for those of us with small children.
The carousel was cute but seemed overpriced at $2 a ride.
