This place has a ton of shops, and you can get a lot done in one visit. They have a grocery store, a few restaurants and quick take out places, a Paula's Donuts, banks, several clothing stores- geared for either professional women, teenagers, kid,s and local interests, there's jewelry shops, card shops, a Goodwill, a Dollar Tree, a gym, and even local blood donation center! There's also the DMV, and a few Dr offices. There's basically something for everyone, and has everything you could possibly need- plus more.

If you cannot stand the claustrophobic mall environment, Southgate Plaza is very much like the very old Thruway Plaza. Each store has a door going right out to the parking lot. The only place I go for purchases at the Paper Cutter or the Catholic Store.
There is a grocery store called The Market Place, with a dining area for lunch or quick dinner and one of the Federal Meat stores is nestled in, not far from a very busy, but lovely Bon Ton and very close to Pumpernick and Pastry where a sweet or a fresh loaf of bread is sure to please.
There is a Chinese restaurant, a family restaurant, a dry cleaner, shoe repair...etc....All things in one complex with plenty of opportunity to walk between stores and get some fresh air and excercise.
Around all holidays the small town-like community of vendors offer timely specials and the plaza offers activities like horse drawn carriage rides, in season, Carolers, petting zoos or reindeer, free gift wrap.
If you don't have all day this is a great place to start from as if they do not have a vendor right there, what you need is not far away on Union Road or Seneca Street.
With exception of Bonton, everything is one level which works for wheelchairs.
A good and friendly timesaver.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Barbara B.Buffalo, NY74176114Jun 16, 2016
had a recent appointment at my attorney's office which is located behind Southgate Mall. I drove around and around just checking out all the individual stores and really didn't find anything that tripped my trigger. I did make a run into Bath & Body Works because a lot of things were 75% off, and was able to put together a nice gift bag for a 10 year old for under $10. I don't think I'll be coming back down here anytime soon.

This plaza needs a facelift STAT!
The stores are of great variety and it's really truly a strip mall. There was a Bon Ton here, a Bath & Body Works... Seemed okay though you usually see these places in indoor malls not strip plazas. Either way, it's okay.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Linda P.Buffalo, NY0100Dec 28, 2016
It's great, but it used to be better. There used to be a lot of carnivals and community events (in fact, the West Seneca Community Days were held here) until the new owners took over. Now, the Community Days are nestled in the (much smaller) are near the ice rink, library, and town hall.
Parking is plentiful, but there is a lot of traffic and many drivers don't pay attention. Easy to get in and out of the plaza.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sandi B.Buffalo, NY820Jan 14, 2016
Use to be the best plaza around till new owners took over and all the extra events disappeared & stores being kicked out hence empty stores..old owners never had an empty store & seemed to care about the community but new owners not so much ...only new good thing is La Fitness going in & Paulas Donuts...love the Hallmark store

Southgate Plaza is about 2 blocks from my grandparents house- i have been going there for almost 27 yrs when ever i visit them. I love the plaza, and over the years different stores have come in and gone out but its still great.
