Hi!

I’m Sarang Zambare. Previously, I was at Peloton on the team that built the Peloton Guide device, and before that, I was at Caper on the team that built smart shopping carts and self-checkout kiosks, which eventually led to their acquisition by InstaCart. Right before this, I also tried my hand at a hardware startup in industrial automation, which unfortunately did not work.

One thing I have gathered from these experiences is that building physical products is HARD! - and I am trying to change that with SuperCraft.

The Problem:
Look around you. Every product that you can see and touch - iPhones, smart watches, toothbrushes, hair dryers, blenders, speakers, drawers, chairs, etc. - started with just an idea and materialized into a physical product by industrial designers. Currently, industrial designers workflow consists of understanding the problem the product is solving, and iterating through numerous product ideas, usually in the form of hand-drawn sketches. Once a sketch is picked, the only way to materialize that into a prototype is to use CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion360, etc.

But at this point, the goal is to simply ideate various designs. So CAD software is overkill, and there is a gap in available software solutions that address this ideation stage.

So how does SuperCraft help?

SuperCraft offers a collaborative node-based canvas where users can either generate sketches from product descriptions or hand-draw them directly on the canvas and convert the sketches to high-quality 2D and 3D renders of products using AI. It’s like if Figma and ComfyUI had a baby.

You can guide the generation process by telling it in language exactly what you want the product to look like.

You can also generate ideas for sketches using text:

SuperCraft generates a 3D render of the prototype, and this can be visualized using the built-in 3D viewer to get a better look at the design.

The goal of SuperCraft is to become the new default way of designing physical products and become an indispensable tool for any industrial designer.
