Wikidata:WikiProject Cycling/Documentation/listofwinners
The listofwinners function permits to generate in the body of an article a table listing for each edition the winner, the second and the third. In this documentation, the example will be taken on the Trofej Umag (Q13493260). This element provides the basic information on this race , like the country (P17) (Croatia (Q224)) and the inception (P571) (2013). In a first time, all cycling races publishing must have their own item. In a race that celebrates its centenary edition, there are a hundred items to have. The items are listed with has part(s) (P527) : 2013 Umag Trophy (Q16619171), 2014 Umag Trophy (Q16619174), 2015 Umag Trophy (Q20898056) and 2016 Trofej Umag (Q20898057). When a new cycle race edition element is created, it must be added after the others. The item of the race carries the Q13493260 number, the template is always called by {{Cycling race/listofwinners|Q13493260}}
, regardless of the language version.

Secondly, the work takes place on the part of the edition of the cycling race, and repeats for all editions. After creating the element, it is mandatory to indicate the point in time (P585) if it is a one-day race or start time (P580) if it is a stage race. Then you have to mention the riders on the podium, Marko Kump (Q720377), Maksym Averin (Q15966059) and Sergey Nikolaev (Q18402405) in imperatively adding their qualifier with the qualifier of (P642). The values to provide qualifiers are always the same : overall winner general classification (Q20882667), second overall (Q20882668) and third overall (Q20882669). Finally, if it is a professional race, it is imperative to make a statement with ProCyclingStats race ID (P2327) to source the item from the edition of the race (the value is the name of the course content in the URL or a five or six digits). It is important that the datas inserted on Wikidata are verifiable very quickly by any contributor.
The manipulations that have been described are used to complete the palmares of a bicycle race. But as the articles of those races already created or will be, it is very likely that information has already been entered to fill the infobox. To add other sources, it is possible to use Cycling Archives race ID (archived) (P2330).
