If several are possible, I don't think this can easily be captured with the property. I currently set "unknown" to prefer. What is the relation between the two other values? BTW for ISBN I added "no value", as ISBN alone in the reference of a statement doesn't point to any centralized database. --- Jura 13:23, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

When referencing current data, which applies to most of the references, Norwegian Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities (Q5380556) is where the information is found. But for references to something that changed, like the date of a new official name or a legal type, the information is found in Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises (Q17773282). In cases where the information relates to an old company where the company entity has been reused for a totally different company (which is why we have several false positives on the distinct values constraint), all information is found in Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises (Q17773282). (Between 1988 and 1995, all information was found in Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises (Q17773282), but we didn't read the information back then, so that's irrelevant in this case.) Some information is also found in some external databases where the Norwegian organization number (Q11994066) is mentioned, but one usually have to look it up through the name.
I guess the way you changed P9073 on this looks okay. It is kind of self-explanatory, and suggests that the user has to be aware that the ID is actually used by more than one single database. (Yet, it is not an "ownerless" identifier, like ISBN or vehicle identification number (P6322).) Bergenga (talk) 17:43, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If everything is in Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises (Q17773282), maybe that should be the default. --- Jura 12:01, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for late answer. I've been off from Wiki for a while.
No, I guess I was a bit unclear, but Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises (Q17773282) does not contain everything. It is a registry only for buisnesses/enterprises, while Norwegian Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities (Q5380556) is for all types of organizations. We don't get historical information for assocations, foundations, government organizations, etc.. If a foundation changes its name, we will not see a record of when it happened.
On 1 January 2021, the registry included 350 000 limited companies, 420 000 sole proprietorships and around 35 000 other types of buisnesses. It also included 110 000 voluntary associations (sports clubs, advocacy groups, political parties, religious organizations, etc.), 6000 foundations, 9000 housing cooperatives, 23000 condos, around 1800 government organizations and some thousand other entities of different types. It also has more than 600 000 sub-entities. (All organizations that have employees need to have at least one sub-entity. They also use Norwegian organization number (Q11994066) as identifier.)
If only businesses were relevant for Wikidata, it wouldn't be a problem, but that's definitely not the case. Bergenga (talk) 17:24, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Address as required statement

[edit]

This identifier requires the data objects for which it is used as a value to have a statement street address (P6375).... This constraint is marked as suggestion constraint (Q62026391). I am in favor of removing this constraint because I believe an organization should not use the property street address (P6375) as a value, only as a qualifier for the property headquarters location (P159). --Gymnicus (talk) 10:00, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, so I just removed it. However, the property should be kept on item level for elements that don't just represent an organization, like for example a school, that also has a building that is inevitably connected to it. Bergenga (talk) 11:14, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
