Marketing & PR Officer
Position: Full time, permanent position- Monday to Friday
Location: Office based in Ipswich, Suffolk
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing & PR Officer to join our team, with a primary focus on PR and social media marketing. This role is perfect for an individual with a passion for developing and executing marketing and public relations strategies that elevate brand presence and drive engagement.
Working in a fast-paced environment, the Marketing and PR Officer will be responsible for driving brand awareness, managing social media platforms, writing blog posts/ articles, crafting press releases and co-ordinating with external stakeholders such as press, social media influencers and more. The successful candidate will be a skilled writer with a keen eye for detail, an excellent communicator and a team player with the confidence to work independently.
This is an office based role located at our Head Office at Poplar Lane, Ipswich, though occasional travel may be required for PR events, media outreach and on-site visits. Key Responsibilities include (not limited to):
- Monitor and manage the daily press inbox dealing with queries from the public, press and other related organisations.
- Develop and execute PR strategies, campaigns and press releases to enhance our brand image and reputation.
- Build and maintain relationships with press contacts, expanding the press list and seeking new opportunities for brand promotion across both online and offline media.
- Organise and attend PR events, including press days, award ceremonies and exhibitions.
- Assist with the management of our social media presence, creating content, communicating with influencers and analysing the performance of our activities.
- Write and publish SEO-optimised content for the website and blogs, collaborating with our PPC agency and updating content regularly.
What we're looking for:
Essential:
- Experience within a previous marketing, copywriting, press and communications or social media role.
- Creative writing skills with an ability to adapt content to different platforms and audiences.
- Skilled in Canva, Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
- Experience in using social media management tools such as Meta Business Suite or Buffer.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills and receptive to feedback.
- Positive attitude, excellent organisational skills, flexible and self-motivated.
Desirable:
- Proven experience of developing and executing integrated communications strategies across multiple channels.
- An in depth understanding of media relations and experience in building and maintaining relationships with journalists and influencers.
- Analytical and interpretation skills where you can draw insights and take action to improve performance.
- Horticultural knowledge or an interesting in gardening.

This is a full time permanent position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00, however a willingness work longer days when required is essential.
