Disinclining means to make someone unwilling or disinclined to do something. There are a number of synonyms for the word, which include deterring, discouraging, dissuading, preventing, inhibiting, obstructing, hindering, restraining, and impeding. All of these words imply that someone or something is acting in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to do something. For example, a parent might try to discourage their child from smoking by explaining the health risks and showing them the unpleasant consequences of smoking.
