     Winter Atwell Edward Lake was born in 1858.1 He was the son of Andrew Winter Lake and Henrietta Edith Jessie Francklyn.2 He married Annie Ethel Talbot Howey, daughter of Maj.-Gen. William Howey, in 1883.1 He died on 29 May 1930.1
     He fought in the Afghan War in 1880.1 He fought in the Burmese Campaign between 1886 and 1889.1 He was Deputy Inspector-General, Punjab Police.1

     Lt.-Col. Ernest Atwell Winter Lake was born on 5 August 1886.1 He was the son of Winter Atwell Edward Lake and Annie Ethel Talbot Howey.2 He married Phyllis Marjorie Silcock, daughter of James Greer Silcock and Charlotte Barbara Drysdale Ker, on 10 January 1924.1 He died on 7 December 1945 at age 59.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1945.1
