     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in 1940 in the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1946.¹ He was registered as a Associate Member, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (A.M.I.M.E.)¹ He graduated from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, Wye, Kent, England^G, in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He lived in 2003 at Gable Cottage, Oldfield Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     Joyce Lillian Champion is the daughter of Charles Champion.² She married Patrick Armine Wodehouse, son of Ernest Armine Wodehouse and Helen Harnett, on 30 June 1947.¹
