     Brampton Dillingham was the son of Thornhagh Gurdon and Sarah Dillingham.2 He married, firstly, Mary Bedingfeld, daughter of Philip Bedingfeld and Mary Bacon.1 He married, secondly, Mary Howard, daughter of Samuel Howard.1 He died in 1820, having by her had a daughter (Mary, married 4 May 1810 William Frere, DCL, Serjeant-at-Law and Master Downing College Cambridge (d 25 May 1836), 5th s of John Frere, JP, FRS, FSA, of Roydon Hall, Norfolk (see BLG 1969), and died 4 May 1864).1
     He lived at Grundisburgh, Suffolk, EnglandG.1 He lived at Letton, Norfolk, EnglandG.1 He was given the name of Brampton Gurdon at birth.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Norfolk in 1789.1 He also had three sons by his first wife.1
