     William Grierson of Barquhar was born circa 1626 at Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.² He was the son of Sir Robert Grierson of Lag and Margaret Murray.¹ He married Margaret Douglas, daughter of Sir James Douglas, circa 26 June 1654 at Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.^1,2 He died after 6 December 1665 at Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.² He was also reported to have died in 1661.¹
     He was Tutor of Lag.²
