Sir James Pennyman, 6th Bt. was born in 1736.1 He was the son of Ralph Pennyman and Bridget Gee.1 He married Elizabeth Grey, daughter of Sir Henry Grey, 1st Bt. and Hannah Wood. He married Mary Maleham on 14 May 1801.1 He died on 27 March 1808.1
He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough between 1770 and 1774.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Pennyman, of Ormesby Hall, co. York [E., 1664] on 14 January 1770. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Beverley between 1774 and 1796.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.2
