Syrian, Belarusian talks to import buses and trucks into Syria.

Damascus, SANA-Representatives from Ministries of Industry, Public works and Local administration held on Wednesday discussions with Belarus Ambassador in Damascus Alexander Ponomarev and representatives of MAZ Company on the possibility of importing trucks into Syria and establishing a joint company to assemble these trucks in the country.

Assistant Minister of Industry Rashad al-Isseh affirmed the importance of benefiting from the technical development of car and truck industry in Belarus to hold a joint company to assemble buses or trucks in Syria through a credit line.

For his part, Assistant Minister of Public Works Muala Khudre said the Ministry needs more than 600 trucks for its companies in order to prepare for reconstruction projects in the country.

Director of companies at the Ministry of Local Administration Kamel Assaf also said the Ministry is in need for hundreds of buses to meet the demands of the interior transport companies all over Syria.

Belarusian Ambassador, for his part, pointed out to the importance for boosting economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and exporting part of MAZ trucks and buses into Syria through the credit line.

The meeting comes in light of following up the implementation of the final protocol signed during the meetings of the Syrian-Belarusian joint Committee for economic, trade and technical cooperation held in Minsk last April.
