Fast bowler Chris Tremain has won the Bill Lawry medal after an outstanding Sheffield Shield season for Victoria. The quick took 51 wickets at 21.07 to be the competition’s leading wicket taker. He had already won Cricket Australia's award for shield player of the year.
Tremain was one of several players to be recognised at Cricket Victoria’s awards ceremony on Thursday night. Fellow paceman Peter Siddle won the Dean Jones medal as Victoria’s best player in one-day cricket, while Kristen Beams claimed the Sharon Tredrea award as Victoria’s best player during the Women’s National Cricket League season.
