C. Presenting
examples Product Design is the process of creating new
/instances of the products from scratch or working on improvement on
lesson existeing ones.

However, it should not be treated as just making or

adding a fun design to an item then putting it on the
store shelf.

The shapes and colours of your design shoud have a

visual impact on your target market.

It helps encourage rather than restrain the buyer to use

your products.

It also looks presentable when there is harmony in the

lines, shapes and colours.

Examples of these are the products not just found in the

market but also in your school and at home.

Look and observe the design of these products.

You will realize that it fills a need and makes sure the
target market notices it through the application of art
elements and principles of design.

3D View, allows you to look at the shape of your

design and various angles.

Creating shapes
To create the shape of your product design (plane,
cube, circle, cylinder, or cone), press shift A then
select Mesh on the 3D View.

At the left hand panel, you can edit the shapes through
the vertices, radius, depth and cap fill type.

If you want to change your objects in Objects Mode,

select it then press G to move it, R to rotate it, or s to
scale it.

New
concepts and  What is product package design?
practicing It is a process of creating new products from
new skill #1 scratch or working an improvement on existing ones.
 Packaging is a method of enclosing or protecting
products for storage sale and use.

13
Region V/Daily Lesson Plan/2019-2020
What are the three steps involving in packaging?

1. Process design – it includes the planning of how the

package looks. It involves creating a design for the
product being packed.
2. Evaluation – involves the checking if the package
design satisfied the concept.
3. Production of Package – involves the printing of the
package.

Usually in the past, package design is done manually. But

with the digital technology, package design has been made
easier and the production faster.

E. Discussing Let the pupils answer the given question.

New  How packaging important?
Concepts
and
Practicing Like product design, package design should go beyond
New Skills being merely beautiful. It can take a few seconds for the
#2 costumer’s eyes to scan the content. Once a costumer
holds the package, he or she should get that it is a wise to
buy it.

 What is the right Packaging?

The package should create an association of what is inside.

The right packaging depends on how well it was thought
out, such as:

1. Material – there are lots of packaging materials like

cardboard, metal, foil, plain paper. But with the
global environment awareness, more
manufacturers and company have resorted to eco-
friendly materials like recycled paper.

2. Shape- Most solid items are placed in geometric

boxes while liquid are based in cylinders.
Remember that the shape of your package will give
an idea of the scope of your design.

3. Text – In boxes, the top contains the main

information like the name of the product. The
important information has a bigger text size. The
less important information has a smaller text size
which the costumer can read after he or she has
bought the product.

4. Colors – applying contrast in colors works in

package design. It breaks the monotony of a color
and improve the chances of your target market
giving it a second look.

14
Region V/Daily Lesson Plan/2019-2020
What software can be used to design a product package?

 There are a number of available product package

design software online like STUDIO, BLENDER,
PHOTOSHOP ADOBE, PAINT 3-D and other
software.

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP STUDIO

BLENDER PAINT 3-D

another and then played at a fast speed to give
the illusion of movement.
Most animations are played at a speed of twenty-
four to fifty images every second.
Each images becomes one from the movie.
A person who makes animations is called an
animator.

There are 3 ways to animate:

1. Draw each frame
2. Use stop-motion: make a model scene and
change it to create a new image
3. Make computer graphics

Animation begins with a story.

The story is represented in visual form which
show the animator’s creative vision.
This is called a storyboard or the still drawings
that show the action of the story.
You can compare a storyboard to large vision of
comics.
A storyboard has about 60 sketches for each
board with three boards needed for a short film,
and more than 25 storyboards for a full-length
film.
For the characters and surroundings, think of the
quality of lines as you form the shape.
Heavy lines attract attention while smooth lines
show freedom.
Colors can also show their feelings like red when
they are angry, blue when they are sad, and
green when they are sick.
