To whom this may concern,

Please accept this letter of interest, along with my attached resume, as an enthusiastic
application for a teaching position within your school district. Upon my research of your school
system, I recognize that your values and mission for your students match those which I possess as a
dedicated and experienced educator. I am confident that I can become an integral part of your
teaching team.
I possess New York State certifications in Childhood Education, Literacy/Reading, and
Students with Disabilities. Through my undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate coursework, I
have strived to prepare myself with the pedagogical strategies needed to support all types of
learners in a variety of classroom settings. Furthermore, my vast experience in diverse educational
environments has provided me with the skill set needed to promote student achievement to the
highest degree.
Currently, I am a preferred substitute teacher in the Great Neck Union Free School District.
This has been a wonderful experience for me to hone highly effective classroom management skills,
while learning the various expectations and needs of students with diverse abilities and
backgrounds. Most recently, I was a reading teacher for students in kindergarten through fifth
grade in the Baldwin Union Free School District. During this experience, I grew strong in
differentiating data-driven, targeted instruction and collaborating with various colleagues to
individualize each child’s learning experience based on specific needs. I appreciated the opportunity
to be trained in Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) and utilized a Columbia Teachers College
Reading & Writing Workshop approach for literacy lessons. Additionally, I strived to become a
contributive member of the school community through volunteering for various committees and
student clubs. Prior to this, I was a full-time classroom teacher in kindergarten and first grade in a
public school in Silver Spring, Maryland. This was an invaluable chance to hone innovative
assessment strategies, adapt instruction based on need, and grow professionally to support ELLs
and diversity within the classroom. Along with full-time classroom teaching, some of my related
experience includes substitute teaching, teaching/supervising summer school, and tutoring reading.
As an educator, I prioritize focusing on data to inform my engaging lessons, instilling a love
for reading in my students, and dedicating myself to the profession of inspiring students to
appreciate the learning process. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to bring these pedagogical
values to a new school setting, where I can leave a positive impact on my students and fellow
colleagues.
It is my hope that my extensive qualifications and dedication to making a positive difference
in the lives of my students will be beneficial for your school community. I look forward to the
opportunity to contribute greatly to your teaching team. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Brittany Larocca
