Balmoral Rabbit Hutch
This is one of our largest and most spacious rabbit hutch with over 17.5 square feet of space for your pet.
One of this rabbit hutch's most popular features, apart from its size, is its tall covered run which gives plenty of protection from the elements.
The 2 large locking doors give you easy access points to the wide run. There's even enough room for a small child to enter and sit inside - playing safely with their pet.
The entire run is enclosed with thick heavy duty metal wire which is inlaid into the wooden frame, a feature that separates it from other similar looking hutches.
We have also made the ramp wider and longer than other similar models. This then makes it easier for your pet to enter and exit the run with less chance of them falling off.
Our doors also have solid locks and are much safer than the plastic heart or leaf shaped fasteners which may look the part but don't provide your pet with the necessary protection they may need.
We've also used thicker more sturdy wood and have made the entrance to their living area wider to accommodate those of you that keep or intend to keep the large breed of rabbits.
A large pull out tray and the 2 fully opening doors to the housing area make it easy to access and a breeze to clean.
The protective waterproof window cover gives you the added flexibility of protecting the living quarters from driving rain and helps prevent the living area from becoming wet.
Noteworthy Features
-
Better Layout - we've positioned the divider so the opening is as far away from the window as possible. This reduces drafts inside the sleeping area and provides a dark and dry space for your rabbit - away from the elements when the weather is horrid outside.
-

-
Separate Areas - the run can be conveniently opened and closed off via the handy sliding door, so your pet can be safely locked away at night.
-
Safer And More Secure - all the doors come with barrel bolt locks. No silly plastic heart-shaped door fasteners, which look the part but don't provide your pet with the necessary protection they may need.

Where can we deliver to?
Orders can be delivered anywhere in mainland England, Wales, and most areas in the lowlands of Scotland. If you live outside these areas we then, unfortunately, cannot deliver our products to you. This includes the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland (IM, GY, JE, BT)
Like most online companies we rely on (3rd party) courier companies to deliver all our orders around the country. As much as we would love to get our products in the hands of as many people as possible the cost of getting our hutches to anyone who lives outside mainland England and Wales is prohibitive - sometimes more than the actual cost of the product!
Delivery to Scotland
We can deliver to most lowland areas in Scotland. These include the following postcodes: DD1-7 , DG , EH , FK1-6 , G , KA1-26 , KA29-30 , KY , ML , PA1-19 , PH1-2 , TD
If you live outside these areas then unfortunately, we are unable to offer delivery due to the high extra charges levied by the courier companies we use. You are welcome to arrange your own courier to collect from us, or we can deliver the items to a courier up north for onward journey to you.
Delivery to the Isle of Wight
The courier company that we use can deliver to the Isle of Wight. However, there is a delivery surcharge of £70 per order.
1. Is there a Run for the Balmoral?
The Balmoral Hutch doesn't come with an add-on run like that of our Windsor Hutch or Double Hutch but some people have used the Large Folding Run and a bit of D.I.Y ingenuity to attach it to the Balmoral.
Just bear in mind that the L.F.R has been designed as a stand alone run and not an add-on run for any of our hutches so if you do want to attach it to the Balmoral it will take some D.I.Y skill.
2. Is the Balmoral Hutch big enough for two rabbits?
A lot will depend on the breed of rabbit, how you intend to keep your rabbits and how much time they will get to interact outside the hutch. There is a huge difference in the amount of space a British Giant needs when you compare it to a Netherland Dwarf.
Ultimately it's down to you. You know your set up best, which breed you intend to keep and how you intend to keep them. You can get all the measurements from our product pages so you can make an informed decision before you purchase. For more information click here
3. Can the Balmoral Hutch be constructed the other way?
While some customers in the past have set up their hutch the other way around, it's not straightforward and would involve a fair bit of D.I.Y to do so. The Balmoral has been specifically designed to be constructed the way it is shown in the photos on our website.
4. Is the Balmoral Hutch fox proof?
We would like to think that our Balmoral Hutch is made to a higher standard than most other suppliers in its price range. While we have purposely used thicker, sturdier wood, wire and locks with the aim to make it as safe and secure as possible for your pets we cannot absolutely guarantee that foxes and other predators won’t try and target them.
Foxes are by far the biggest threat that your pet will face so if you are going to keep your rabbits or guinea pigs outside then we also urge you to take these added precautions especially if you know you have foxes in your area.
5. Is the wood treated?
Yes, the Balmoral Hutch comes with a base coat treatment of wood preservative. But as with all outdoor wooden structures in our harsh climate, we recommend that the timber is treated on a regular basis to ensure a long life. There are many popular products available with Cuprinol , Ronseal and Wilkinson amongst the better-known brands. A lot of customers use and recommend these:
Recommended Wood Preservative 1 and Recommended Wood Preservative 2
Caring For Your Hutch
As with most outdoor products the lifespan of your hutch can be dramatically prolonged just by taking a few simple steps. Click here for our product care guidelines.

Positioning Your Hutch
If you plan on keeping your hutch outside then we highly recommend that you position it in a protected area which is not overly exposed to the elements and protected at all times from high winds (or sudden gusts).
If you intend to place your hutch or run in your garden then please be aware that a soft or uneven surface can make it easier for foxes and other preditors to gain entry by digging. Some rabbits and other pets may also be able to burrow under and escape, so caution is advised.
The Wood We Use
The majority of the wood we use in this product is a highly durable, kiln-dried white pine which is noted for its resistance to decay and rot. Most rabbit hutches made in the U.K use this type of wood. But unlike many other manufacturers, we use more of it.
You'll find that the framework is thicker and the majority of the hutch uses solid tongue and groove construction (and less cheap plywood). This is why our hutches tend to be sturdier, heavier and last longer than many of the cheaper options out there.

Dangerous Animals
We would like to think that our Balmoral Hutch is made to a higher standard than most other suppliers in its price range. While we have purposely used thicker, sturdier wood, wire and locks with the aim to make it as safe and secure as possible for your pets we cannot absolutely guarantee that foxes and other animals (dogs, badgers, stoats, cats) won’t try and target them.
Foxes are by far the biggest threat that your pet will face so if you are going to keep your rabbits or guinea pigs outside then we also urge you to take these added precautions especially if you know you have foxes in your area. (This advice also applies to other animals that may pose a threat.)

Unwanted Chewing
Unfortunately, there is always the possibility that some rabbits and other rodents may chew parts of their hutch. This is out of our control and the onus really is on you to take the necessary precautions straight away to prevent or lessen the chance of them chewing parts of their hutch.
Our wooden hutches, like the majority of wooden hutch sold in the U.K, are not chew proof and we can't be held liable for any damage caused to or by your pet chewing or gnawing the product. Prolonged chewing can also weaken your hutch and decrease the protection they offer against foxes.
We recommend trying out our new Anti Chew Strips and taking a close look at all the steps you can take to stop or at least lessen the chances of your rabbit chewing things they shouldn't.
