Buffalo Bandits News Release

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team's coaching staff for the 2019-20 season.

John Tavares will return behind the bench as the team's head coach after finishing with a 14-4 regular-season record during the 2018-19 season. This year will mark Tavares' fifth as a member of Buffalo's coaching staff and second as head coach.

Rich Kilgour's contract was not renewed by the team for the 2019-20 season.

In addition to his responsibilities as the team's general manager, Steve Dietrich will now serve as one of Tavares' assistant coaches and will oversee the Bandits' defense. Rusty Krueger will remain in his role as an assistant coach and this season will manage the team's offensive unit.

Anthony Cosmo will resume his role as the team's goaltending coach after a 2018-19 season that saw starting goaltender Matt Vinc earned his seventh NLL Goaltender of the Year award. It will mark Cosmo's second season as the team's goaltending coach and eighth year with the organization after posting a 38-31 record in six seasons (2012 to 2017) playing for the Bandits.

Eric Vinc and Rob Buchan will continue their respective roles as the team's video coach and western scout. Troy Cordingley will also return for his second season as the team's assistant general manager.
