Description

A military ski patrol event was held at the Olympic Winter Games in 1928, 1936, and 1948 as a demonstration sport. The event was also contested at the 1924 Olympic Winter Games in Chamonix and, until recently, had always been considered a demonstration event. But more recent evidence makes it clear that this was a full medal event in 1924, and not a demonstration.

Military ski patrol is an event similar to team biathlon, in which all the team members ski together over a course, stopping periodically to shoot at targets. The event is still held at World Military Skiing Championships, but no international federation exists for the sport.
