The full moons, retrograde planets, and most important transits of 2025 In 2025, several astrological innovations are promised

This past year, which was also a leap year, brought no shortage of challenges, especially during its periods of Mercury retrograde (three in total this year: April 1–25, August 5–28, and November 26–December 15). Not to mention the other retrograde movements we faced, including Mars retrograde until late February 2025, Jupiter in retrograde until early February 2025, and Uranus retrograde until late January, helping us keep things under control. The biggest shift was with Pluto, the planet of transformation, which moved definitively into Aquarius after twenty years in Capricorn (the transition began in 2023, though the planet was retrograde for much of that year). Pluto will remain in Aquarius until 2044. The year 2024 also closed on a unique note with a second New Moon on December 30, also known as a Black Moon. This will be a powerful moment for introspection and a chance to focus on yourself. As we step into the new year, we can expect unexpected retrogrades, significant transits, and some temperamental full moons. The key is not to panic but instead to arm ourselves with patience (and a good dose of crystals and palo santo).

The Retrograde Movements of 2025

The retrograde movements of 2025 will be numerous, but not always negative. Starting with the infamous Mercury, it will be retrograde from March 15–April 7, July 18–August 11, and November 9–29. As usual, these periods might feel overwhelming and frustrating, but they’re relatively short and manageable. Another planet experiencing a brief retrograde is Venus, from March 2–April 13. It’s better to avoid new romantic connections during this time, though reconnecting with long-lost acquaintances is favored. Other planets in retrograde in 2025 include:

Mars (continuing from late 2024 until February 24): Focus on individual projects rather than group endeavors.

Jupiter (from late 2024 until February 4 and again from November 11 through 2026): Reflect on life’s purpose and pursue it.

Saturn (July 13–November 28): Reflect on past actions and lessons learned.

Uranus (from late 2024 until January 30 and again from September 6 through 2026): Take a break and adapt to ongoing changes.

Neptune (July 4–December 10): Navigate confusion while identifying true needs.

Pluto (May 4–October 14): Clear away unnecessary elements to make room for what truly matters. Notably, many of these retrogrades occur in Aries, potentially adding turbulence to these periods of astrological slowdowns.

Other Significant Astrological Transits of 2025

Finally, notable transits for 2025 include Neptune and Saturn moving into Aries, remaining there until 2038 and 2028, respectively. Neptune fosters clarity and focus on goals, while Saturn in Aries juxtaposes discipline with impulsiveness, creating an astral antithesis. Jupiter transitions to Cancer, emphasizing family and home life from June 10 to mid-2026. Meanwhile, Uranus enters Gemini from July 7 until 2032, resolving lingering issues and inspiring new ideas.
