BLACK MAGIC is a communication of culture through imagery. This collection of works serves as a visual oration of Nicholas Bailey’s perspective on Blackness. Whether leading the viewer into deeper, more intimate engagements within the African-American home or sheer joy of youthfulness in street scenes, the one thing consistent throughout the idea’s existence is focus on his ability to seamlessly encapsulate the symphonic harmonies of our values, traditions and everyday life through photography. Bailey offers an accessible means of understanding of our communities and the people who live and grow there, which exposes the observer to their own duty to bend societal barriers, allowing them a peek into a beautiful spectrum of existence that shapes our cultural narrative.
