The teaser of Ajith starrer Vidaamuyarchi has finally been released, giving viewers a glimpse into the thrilling world of director Magizh Thirumeni. Vidaamuyarchi teaser release past 11 PM IST on Thursday, and by midnight the video had garnered more than a million views on YouTube.
Along with the teaser, it was also officially announced that Vidaamuyarchi releases in theaters for Pongal, 2025 in January. A first impression report (FIR) of the teaser follows:
1. Vidaamuyarchi Vs Breakdown
For a while now, it has been known that Vidaamuyarchi is either inspired from, or an adaptation of, or the official remake of the Hollywood action thriller Breakdown (1997). Ajith plays a husband who is search of his missing wife (Trisha), and going by the teaser, Vidaamuyarchi has lived upto the original in every way including the aesthetics, sound, and the suspense.
American Jewish filmmaker Jonathan Mostow, a Harvard alumni, is credited for the story, co-screenplay, and direction of the Breakdown starring Kurt Russel. Breakdown's audience often credits the film's suspense part as one of the best things about the movie, and Vidaamuyarchi teaser has ensured that those unaware of the original get to experience the same.
2. Hollywood Standards
Even those in the dark about the Breakdown connection would agree that the Vidaamuyarchi teaser gives Hollywood standards. Be it cinematographer Om Prakash's frames, Supreme Sundar's high octane stunts, late art director Milan's sets, or Anirudh Ravichander's arresting music, Vidaamuyarchi is technically captivating.
Actor Ajith on the other hand looks uber stylish in the film, thanks to Anu Vardhan's costumes, and the natural suave the 53 year old in known to carry.
3. Villains
Before the release of Vidaamuyarchi teaser, it was known that actors Arjun Sarja and Aarav play negative roles in the movie. The revelation of Regina Cassandra as the third villain, makes things interesting.
A Lyca Productions venture, Vidaamuyarchi has VFX by Hariharasuthan, Prasath Somasekar as the DI Colourist. The film also stars Nikhil Nair, Dasarathi, Ganesh, among others. Vidaamuayrchi teaser is currently at 5 million plus views.
