Maattrraan Music Release in Singapore on Aug 9

Maattrraan team is planning the much expected music release function in Singapore on August 9th. Harris Jayaraj had completed the final mixing and twiddling his fingers and waiting for the release of his album. Due to a few reasons below, the date has not been fully confirmed yet until now.

Availability of Suriya's date

Suriya's availability will be the key to determining whether the music release function can be held in Singapore on August 9th. As Suriya gets ready to start Singam-2, his availability is also becoming very difficult. If Singapore doesn't work out, the other option the team is considering is to release the album in a low-key function in Chennai. The latter option may not go well with Harris Jayaraj whose music albums have grand events. So, the producers are expected to finalize the date and venue and will announce soon.

Will Maattrraan change hands again?

Another reason quoted is that many parties, including Suriya's Studio Green, Aascar and other distribution houses are keen on re-buying Maattrraan rights from Eros for a higher price for Tamil Nadu. Such is the inexplicable demand for Maattrraan. Eros is not interested in letting Maattrraan slip from its hands. Due to some uncertainties whether Eros will re-sell the rights has led delays in finalizing the music release dates. 

As a result of mounting pressure from the fans, Sony Music, AGS and Eros are intent on releasing on or before August 9 so there is enough time in between before the next big release Vijay's Thuppakki
