Holy crap! This movie is frigging' awesome! It's got silly dialogue, campy acting, incredibly brutal deaths and a really sleazy story.
I give this movie a full score, not because it's some kind of masterpiece or some great technical achievement, but because it's the perfect cult-film. It's filled to the brim with silly, random & gory moments.
Unless you're easily offended, you will definitively be entertained and have a good time watching this Spanish-produced b-film/slasher!

Chronicle (2012)
Date: 3. February

*First Time Watch*
-----------------
While it has it's flaws, Chronicle is a fun, yet dark film about three teenagers that gets telekinesis.
The actors do a really good job, especially the main actors. They are flawed, yet very sympathetic and likable characters.
My only problem is that there's one certain character that only exists to serve as an asshole with no likable traits whatsoever, and that the character is completely irrational.
Still, it's very easy to look past the film's flaws, and it's definitively a entertaining film.

This is actually the first movie I've seen starring the legendary Marilyn Monroe, and she does a phenomenal job in it!
It's actually kind of disturbing, seeing her play a psychologically ill character that's both desperate & vulnerable.
Her fate is really sad, since she was a beautiful and talented young woman.
The film has a great pace, and it never gets boring.
I highly recommend this one!

I'm a big fan of Oliver Stone, and I really like the first Wall Street, but this one was just... decent.
The acting is great from almost everyone. Even Shia LeBouf, whom I hate, does a decent job in it.
The main reason why I didn't think that much of this one, is that the story didn't feel very focused. It jumps around too much, which breaks the bond between the film & audience, especially at the scenes where you're supposed to feel sad when the characters argue, and so on.
I wouldn't exactly recommend it, but watch it if you're interested.

I... I'm not quite sure what to make of this film.
I've seen some pretty strange films before, but this is definitively the strangest one.
It's a odd mix between surreal horror & comedy, with some really confusing & trippy visuals.
It doesn't really feel like it tries to tell a story, but it doesn't need to, because it's worth a watch for the soundtrack & visuals.
Recommended if you like really strange films.

An incredible anthology film, with great visuals and creepy stories.
My only problem with it, is that the film is really exhausting, since it's runtime is around 3 hours.
Still, it's worth a watch for any fan of classic horror.

As a kid, I was absolutely terrified by the DVD-cover to this film. The thought about bugs eating you from the inside out really scared me.
But now that I've finally watched it, I wouldn't call it scary at all.
It's decent, but only because I found it to be very entertaining as a goofy b-film.
The acting is hokey, but far from the worst I've seen, and the story is not exactly complex or original. The effects weren't that bad, except when the flying cockroaches arrived.
I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone, but it's at least entertaining.

Still one of my favorite war movies.

While I did like the movie, and it had some really scary scenes & likable characters, the story was really messy and confusing at times.
I'd give it a higher score if the story was better presented & told.

Altered States (1980) (1980)

*First Time Watch*

One of the most trippy films I've ever seen!
I really liked the concept and the scientific/religious imagery in it, and the acting was really damn good as well.
The weak point in this however, is the story. Still, you don't really need a complex story to enjoy this films, since this is surely one of the best sci-fi films I've ever seen.

A pretty good drama/thiller, but I wasn't really blown away by it.
The acting was really good, especially by Elizabeth Olsen, and I liked the concept that her psyche was really messed up and that she jumped between the past and present.

Usually, I don't give a crap about the Oscars and I find the most of the films getting nominated really uninteresting, but I really loved this one!
I have a thing for silent films, and I found this story to be really interesting. The silent film style was executed really well, and the music was really authentic. I really liked the acting, and I found the characters to be likable and really sympathetic.
My only problem, was that they used Malcolm McDowell in just one short scene, haha.

The Underworld-series is a guilty pleasure for me. I think they're very entertaining and fun, and this was no exception.
The story is decent, but nothing special and the acting isn't exactly outstanding. However, the action scenes were great and I really liked the look of the Lycans (although a lot of the cgi wasn't that good).
If you liked the other films, I'd recommend this one.
Also, Kate Beckinsale in a tight leather suit = win! *drool*

A really atmospheric horror flick, with some really good scares. I'm not a fan of the Harry Potter films, so I haven't really cared for Daniel Radcliffe's acting, but he did a surprisingly good job in this!
One of the problems I had with the film, though, is the annoying horror stinger-sound that kicks in EVERY SINGLE TIME something creepy happens.
If you like Hammer films & classic ghost stories, you'll dig this.

While it wasn't as good as Zombi 2, The Beyond or City of The Living Dead, but I found it to be really suspenseful and atmospheric. The acting was surprisingly good as well.
