Truly one of the most innovative composers who broke into mainstream film, but didn't ever sway from his electronic and experimental early influences. It's great to hear a score like Arrival and then a score like Mandy which incorporates elements of drone and doom metal so well.

En verdad una lamentable pérdida, dado que su música era una de las más hermosas que he escuchado. Cuán curioso es el destino que tenía tantos celos de la maravillosa música de Johan J., que prefirió llevárselo para que solo toque parar él. Una verdadera pena. Siento mucho su perdida. I hope you one day reconsider your views, and try to understand the day to day struggle of not being able to cope with your own existence. How pain can arise so imposingly in your mind that the only way to relieve it, might be to cut your skin to replace the mental pain with physical pain. Giving you 2 or 3 precious moments where your mind is free from agony. The pain in your skin seems like a blessing compared to those harrowing thoughts. Some people find other ways to survive until the next dawn. It might not be a good way, or healthy, and might even cause more problems. However, some might be so desperate to interrupt their torment, if only for a moment, that any alternative that gives an effective result, becomes a potent relief. When your mind is constantly ablaze, and no family, no friends nor therapist can extinguish the flames, there is always that one companion you can reach out to once more, and he will take all your fear and anguish away. A mind at peace once more.

I work with people with addiction, I don't have it myself. I actually speak to them and look at them as human beings, listen to their stories. From learning about them and other people with either alcoholism or no substance abuse. It seems like the only thing that separate them is accessibility and/or environment they are brought into. It seems like chance is a much bigger indicator, and luck that you never learned how effective these drugs are, to make your life easier for those moments. But hey, if you are insisting on shackling yourself to your ignorance, and stay cold and arrogant that is your choice. Like the choice of not using the one viable instrument that is Last.fm to actually double-check how many times I have listened too Nine Inch Nail... just something to consider until next time.

I think what was unique with Jóhann Jóhannsson, is that his music always was captivating and full of emotions, whilst fervently staying sober and objective. Many composer will often tell you what emotion you should have in a certain moment, whether it be melancholic, thrilled, patriotic, optimistic. Jóhannsson seem to grab your hand gently and lead you quietly, while you explore the story on your own terms. I think his music speaks of his humanity, a compassionate man, a strong and generous mind. His presence have shaped and changed the road ahead for modern cinema, lets hope his lessons will linger long into the future.

In a new P4K interview, the person who is working on releasing Johann's posthumous catalogue said that he would try to get to Darren Aranofski to release his unused score for "Mother!". As for the new Blade Runner, he said it wasn't finished, so there were no plans for releasing it.

I think Villeneuve made a mistake getting rid of Johannsson. I'm certain his work would have been more interesting than the Wallfisch/Zimmer score (which I still quite enjoyed). I am still suspicious that there may have been something more going on beyond just creative differences.
