Lots of great pop singers during the 00s, such as Ada Jones, Billy Murray, and Henry Burr. Not to mention popular bands like the Edison Military Band and Columbia Orchestra. Labels like Victor, Columbia, Edison and Pathe really kept the hits coming! Lots of great films too such as The Gay Shoe Clerk and The Story of the Kelly Gang. Great rulers too, especially that Kaiser guy.

My 2000s library is slowly but surely growing, as is my 1990s library. After that I'll finally get around to exploring the 2010s. In my opinion it's easier to find appealing music from a decade after it has been over for some time.

@LiamRandolph Last time I checked nobody in the 1950s was nostalgic for the 1930s (actually, 1950s was perhaps the decade with least nostalgia of all...."new is better" was the thinking at the time).

I don't think I'll ever feel nostalgic for the 2000s. I still have nightmares about the decade.

You have to search on your own, for the good music. Don't let the radio do it for you. [6]

15 years from now all we'll remember is the good stuff. ringtone-culture fucked the industry up. only a handful of good rappers are producing good albums these days. its all crappy watery ringtone music....Drake u piece of crap:) also since the late 00s its been in another dance phase which happens every several years. its generational. we're entering the peak of the current electro-era which i think will end in another teen pop phase as it usually does. then kids will grow out of teen pop and introsective pop-rock singer-songwriters will take over pop music...again. then after there's no more real electro-influenced stuff on top 40 radio, it'll come back and the next generation will start the cycle over again

since 2006 music went shitty and only some of old artists still keep quality.Sad thing, because now we have pitbull,D.guetta, bieber, who are really not from music world. Also it was first decade without F.Mercury:(

I guess music is like wine, gets better as it grows older. As time passes more and more albums will be considered masterpieces while people trash the present music. Disco used to be considered crap (becuse like what happened to 'emo', tons of music that little had to do with real disco started to be released till people grew fed up), and now is like all that 80s music is being defended.

@Lukarox What the fuck does that shithole have anything to do with this? Im not trolling, if that's what your suggesting. This tag is terrible and does a horrible job at portraying the music of the 00's. 90% of these artists are generic pitchfork trash while the remaining 10% are actually relevant artists of the decade.

The 00's used to be my favorite decade for music but then i saw this tag... Holy shit...Those annoying kids in the led zeppelin shirts were right. Music HAS gone to the shitter in the past few years.

I'm shocked that the White Stripes aren't up there. Their awesomeness almost oozes out the speakers.

I just realized that everybody needs to shut up about the quality of the music of the 00's, as there have been, maybe more than ever, many absolute great musicians this decade. Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Interpol, Modest Mouse (TM&A!!), Okkervil River, The White Stripes and more, these are just the bands I listen too, as there are also acclaimed bands I'm not mentioning (Strokes, National, Spoon). I think the only thing holding this decade back is the lack of a monumental band such as the Stones, Beatles and Zeppelin, which the other decades did have, but I actually think the number great bands is bigger than most other decades..[2]
