In Kerala, Congress and CPI(M) have got their own television channels to air their views and to 'distort' the news to suit their views. Congress channel Jaihind TV was started in 2007 to counter attacks by CPI(M) channels Kairali TV (2000) and People TV (2007). BJP, hoping to open its account in Kerala in the Lok Sabha elections, has already started the groundwork to launch their own channel in October this year. Named Janam TV, the party plans to raise Rs 50 crore in five phases from shareholders across the country. More jobs for journalists of a particular persuasion?
