The Stalker is a "common" assault mech, a product of the Reunification War which created the first Star League. The first Stalker prototype debutted in 2594, and had a different weapons loadout than the production model. The machine was slow, thus its designers opted to give it different weapon systems to engage enemies at different ranges. Because the mech was so large and roomy, pairing the weapons effectively doubled its firepower.
The STK-3F model is a shock unit, despite its lack of arms (or perhaps, because of this lack). Since the mech focuses all its firepower towards the front, it is used as the main advance towards strategic targets, bringing proportionately greater volumes of fire as it nears its objective. By the 3050s, LosTech allowed the Stalker to undergo several refits; some versions used double heatsinks and a NARC Beacon system (STK-3M), while others upgraded the engine to extra-light and adding more weapons and protection (STK-3S).
