Air fryers have become a kitchen staple for countless households up and down the country, with their time and cost-saving properties making a big difference to cooking ease and energy bills. Ninja’s become a by-word for these miracle appliances, but you needn’t spring for one of theirs in order to join the fast-cooking, low-oil, low-electricity revolution.

Thanks to Aldi’s Specialbuys, you can pick up a 3.3L air fryer for just £29.99 while stocks last. There’s also a larger 6.2L option available for £39.99, with both offering several temperature settings, overheating protection, and easy-to-use LED control panels.

There’s plenty more to browse appliance-wise, with a fantastic £8.99 offer on this 350ML mini chopper that will save you a tonne of time with blitzing and whisking. For more oomph, there’s this Tritan soup maker for £29.99 that will make light work of fruit and veg. To help stave off the cold, you could opt for this £6.99 food flask to keep your soups warm while you haul yourself onto the chilly commute.

To grab any of these special buys, head to the middle aisle of your local Aldi from the 2nd of January through to the following Thursday. There you’ll find all these products and much more, although you’ll need to be quick as the Specialbuys are refreshed each Thursday and Sunday. They remain available online for another couple of weeks after the new batch is rolled in, but the in-store option is best if you don’t want to miss out.

If you’re not already a convert, Aldi’s got plenty of great reviews at consumer trust site Trustpilot. “Switched a few years ago to Aldi for 95% of our shopping - took us a few months to make the switch,” said one five-star review. “Quality is dependable and price is excellent. Staff are always helpful and friendly.”

“I always enjoy shopping at Aldi, my favourite store,” said another loyal customer. “I shop every Monday at the Henbury, Bristol, store, and it is a pleasure,” added yet another five-star review. “The store is clean, well-stocked with excellent items at great prices, and the staff are the friendliest supermarket staff I have ever met.”

Others say the in-store experience varies between branches: “On the plus side their quality and prices are generally good,” said one three-star review. “But your experience can vary enormously depending on which Aldi you go to. At some branches the shelf stackers look happy and are helpful if you ask them a question about a product. At others they look under pressure and miserable, avoiding eye contact, as if they want to discourage you from approaching them, even if you are a regular.”

However, another person said: "Switched a few years ago to Aldi for 95% of our shopping - took us a few months to make the switch. Quality is dependable and price is excellent."
