- Synopsis
- Born a Galician, Juan Orol arrived in Mexico City as a teenager. There he would become one of the most representative figures of its film making. Fascinated by film noir, he specialized in B movies made with little money and without looking back. Full of absurdities and nonsense, his movies took on a cult aura that won him the description of “involuntary surrealist”. Now, Sebastián del Amo pays a deserving homage to “the king of schlock” with this imaginative biopic, with a mise-en-scene that imitates the evolution of “Orolian aesthetics” from the black and white of his mafia films to the saturated colors of his fantasies during the hippie era.
