The Coventry Sprint Triathlon is coming back in 2025 after a two year absence

The popular Coventry Sprint Triathlon is set to make a triumphant return in 2025 after a two year break. The event, organised by Coventry Triathletes Club, will bring back multi-sport racing with its flat, fast and friendly course designed to cater to both beginners and seasoned triathletes.

Returning on Sunday June 1 2025 at the Xcel Leisure Centre the event will feature a 400m swim, 20k bike ride, and 5k run, attracting first-time participants, experienced athletes, and local sports fans eager to push their boundaries and experience the exhilaration of crossing the finish line.

Registration is now open for what is set to be a major highlight in Coventry's 2025 sporting calendar. The event will also introduce an Aquathlon - a swim and run event - offering an exciting new way for participants to enjoy multi-sport racing. The Aquathlon is designed for younger athletes or those wanting to sample multi-discipline racing without needing a bike.

Paul Dodson, Chairman of Coventry Triathletes, said: "The Coventry Sprint Triathlon is more than just a race – it’s a celebration of our community’s strength, spirit, and shared love for sport. After a two-year break, we’re absolutely thrilled to bring it back for 2025.

We want to see first-timers, friends, and families taking on the challenge together, and with our flat, friendly course, it’s achievable for everyone. This event is about encouraging people to ‘have a go’ and create memories that will last a lifetime.”

Local businesses such as JLN Plumbing, Fyffe’s Bananas, and Coventry Runner have partnered with the event to ensure its success and support the wider community.

Paul added: "This race has always had a special place in the hearts of Coventry’s athletes and the wider community.
