Syzygium aqueum Australian Hardy - Water Apple-large-Strong

Magnificent fruit tree with ornamental glossy red fruits and neat foliage. Water apple has a mild and slightly sweet taste and a crisp watery texture, like between an apple and a watermelon.

This Water Apple was originally imported from Australia as "Syzygium sp. Cold Hardy". Its fruits are the largest and beautiful of all the Syzygium aqueum we tested.

We know nothing about it cold-hardiness but yes, it keeps on growing during our cooler months. It is probably NOT hardy to frost, but it still might be possible that it can resist some cold and grow at lower temperatures than other cultivars.
